Although millions of people are staying home this St. Patrick’s Day due to coronavirus concerns, you can still celebrate by getting your hands on some Irish food — without having to dine in! Here are our 7 favorite tips for enjoying food this St. Patrick’s Day:
1. Pick up a Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s for $0.01.
Best price: If you’re willing to take a drive, you can get a Shamrock Shake for just $0.01 on St. Patrick’s Day using the QR code in the McDonald’s app.
Bring it home: Otherwise, get the minty, green seasonal goodness through DoorDash, where it’ll cost you $2.19. Orders of $15.00 or more get $5.00 off with code GETMCDS through 3/23.
Win something: When you order a Shamrock Shake or an Oreo Shamrock McFlurry with the McDonald’s app, you could win The Golden Shamrock Shake $100,000 goblet.
2. Get local Irish food delivered to you for free with Uber Eats.
Local friendly: Uber Eats has waived delivery fees for thousands of independent local restaurants nationwide. Search Uber Eats for “corned beef hash” or “bangers and mash” to see who has those items on their menu. If they’re a local restaurant, you can get it delivered FREE.
3. Call to get corned beef and cabbage from Beef O’Brady’s.
What to do: Beef O’Brady’s goes all-out on St. Patrick’s Day, but while you can get their food via food delivery services, the 3/17 menu isn’t reflected there. Call your local restaurant to place a pickup order.
Here’s what they’re serving (prices don’t include tax):
- Corned beef and cabbage – $13.99
- Shepherd’s pie – $9.99
- Reuben sandwich – $11.79
- Dubliner prime rib – $12.99
- Bangers and mash – $9.99
4. Spend $15 at Jamba Juice and get a free Amazing Greens Smoothie.
Caveat: Gotta use Postmates for this offer, though. It’s not particularly Irish, but it is green.
5. Get whatever you want from Jack in the Box for 20% off.
Make your menu: Not into Irish food? Eat what you want to celebrate. Any purchases made through the Jack in the Box mobile app get 20% off, now through 3/20.
6. Pick up some Bennigan’s Irish food (you’ll pay full price, though).
What to order: If you have a Bennigan’s in your area, call in or order a pickup online to take home items like the Original Irish Dip Sandwich ($12.00), The Big Irish Burger ($16.00), Dubliner Quesadillas ($9.00), and the Irish Tower O’rings ($9.00).
They might deliver: While Bennigan’s isn’t included in the big delivery apps, many regional food delivery services do service Bennigan’s. Check with your local store.
7. Watch out for the green pancakes and donuts.
Dining in: IHOP restaurants are still open and have a dine-in-only deal for a $1.00 short stack of their St. Paddy’s Day Cakes. Given coronavirus concerns, you might consider the risks.
Can’t order Dunkin’: Dunkin’ Donuts has green donuts for sale, but you can’t order them for delivery or pickup.
Krispy Kremes aren’t free: Despite Krispy Kreme’s website and app offering a free dozen of green donuts, at the final payment screen, the “free” price becomes $11.99. Buyer beware.
