Memorial Day Food Deals: What We Expect to See in 2024

The Memorial Day holiday is a time to honor those who’ve served, and it’s also time to chow down on some Memorial Day food deals from your favorite restaurants. 

In between shopping Memorial Day sales and Memorial Day grocery deals, you’ll want to check out our list of national restaurants offering deals in late May. And if you’re a little early (or late) to the party, we’ve got a list of year-round military discounts that are always available. 

As restaurants announce their plans for their 2024 Memorial Day food deals, we’ll keep this list updated. But expect some goodies from some of the top restaurant chains like Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Dunkin', just to name a few.

Restaurants offer Memorial Day freebies and discounts in the days surrounding the annual holiday.

Memorial Day brings discounts on a wide range of food items, including seafood baskets, pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, desserts, and more. Depending on the restaurant and the offer, some Memorial Day food deals are reserved only for military personnel, while others are open to everybody. 

In the days surrounding Memorial Day, you can expect to see discounts such as buy-one-get-one offers, percentage discounts, special meal deals, and freebies with purchases across various food establishments.

Memorial Day Weekend starts on Friday, May 24, 2024.

Memorial Day always falls on the last Monday of May each year, which always creates a three-day weekend. In 2024, Memorial Day weekend starts on Friday, May 24, 2024, and ends on Monday, May 27, 2024 — and the various food deals tend to be valid throughout that time period.

Current Limited-Time Food Deals:

Auntie Anne’s

Auntie Anne’s is offering their Auntie Anne’s Rewards members a free Original or Cinnamon Sugar pretzel reward with any online gift card purchase, now through June 25, 2023.

You can also receive 50% off the next Dragonfruit Mango beverage by purchasing a Dragonfruit Mango drink (Dragonfruit Mango Frost, Dragonfruit Mango Frozen Lemonade, or Dragonfruit Mango Lemonade Mixer) and any pretzel item now through Sept. 24, 2023.

For members of the military, Auntie Anne’s always offers a 10% discount.

Long John Silver’s

Long John Silver’s has their Chicken Plank basket for $6 until June 25.

Marie Callenders

Buy a whole Chocolate Cream Pie to go for $12.99 at participating Marie Callenders locations through the end of June.

Round Table Pizza

Get a medium one topping pizza for $5 at Round Table Pizza when you buy a large or extra-large pizza at regular price. Offer is good through July 9, 2023 is valid for dine-in, carry-out and delivery orders. No code necessary.

Rubio’s

Through Sept. 3, 2023 Rubio’s is offering $3 alcohol and free chips with any drink purchase during their Baja Weekends, every Thursday through Sunday, after 3 p.m. Offer is valid for dine-in only.

Tim Hortons

Sign up for the free Tim Rewards club to get a BOGO free Breakfast sandwich with free delivery when you order through their mobile app. Offer expires June 27, 2023.

When is Memorial Day 2024?

Next year, Memorial Day will be Monday 27, 2024.

Memorial Day food deals from 2023, including exclusive offers for military veterans and active-duty personnel we expect to see again in 2024.

Abuelo’s

In 2023, you saved 15% off your curbside order at Abuelo’s when you used the promo code 15%OffE during checkout.

Applebee’s

Applebee’s brought back their “2 for $25” deals just in time for the holiday weekend. In 2023, your options included a pick of one or two entrees (Top Sirloin, Fiesta Lime Chicken, and Classic Cheeseburger), an appetizer, or two side salads. These deals were available for dine-in, to go, or delivery when ordered through Applebees.com and the Applebee’s app. In addition, with code FREEDELIVERY you got (free delivery) until May 28, 2023 on orders of $40+ through Applebees.com or the Applebee’s app.

Military personnel who eat at Applebee’s on Memorial Day weekend (and always!), get 10% off for active duty and veterans at participating restaurants.

Arby’s

Arby’s Rewards members who ordered a burger online through June 11, 2023, earned a free sandwich with their next purchase.

Bill Miller BBQ

Through May 31, 2023, Bill Miller BBQ offered $5 off when you spent $25 of more on delivery or pickup orders at participating Bill Miller BBQ locations.

BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse

You got 50% off any large deep dish or Tavern-Cut pizza at BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse through May 31, 2023 when you ordered online at BjsRestaurants.com or in the mobile app and used the code HALFOFF at checkout. No code was needed on Monday, it automatically applied during checkout.

Military members, check your local BJ’s Restaurant Brewhouse to see if a military discount is offered. I called three locations across the U.S., and all said they offered a 10% discount for military members all year long, not just on Memorial Day weekend.

Bojangles

For Memorial Day weekend 2023, you got free delivery on any order at participating Bojangles locations when you ordered through their mobile app.

Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy Store

Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy Store offered their New Crave & Save Special for $8.49. Here’s what was included; a double quarter pound Nacho Cheeseburger with a side of fries or Greek yogurt and a 16oz milkshake or malt.

Buca di Beppo

Every Monday in May, including Memorial Day 2023, Buca di Beppo offer a 50% discount on their Spaghetti and Buca di Beppo’s World Famous Meatballs at Buca di Beppo restaurants. Offer was for dine-in only.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Through May 31, 2023, you could get six boneless wings for $1 when you bought a burger at Buffalo Wild Wings. They also offered 20% off a $30 order if you signed up for the free Blazin’ Rewards via their app.

Buffalo Wild Wings offers a 10% military discount all year long.

Burger King

During Memorial Day weekend, Burger King Royal Perks members got a free hamburger with any $1 purchase when ordered through the BK app. Offer was good through May 28, 2023.

Cali’Flour

From May 24 – 30, 2023, you got 25% off all your keto-friendly snacks, and pizza crust purchases through the Cali’Flour website when you used the code MEMORIAL25 at checkout.

Casey’s

For a limited time participating, Casey’s locations offered a buy one get one 50% off large pizzas special. Plus, free breadsticks when you ordered two large pizzas. Other limited-time promos at Casey’s included $8 off two large pizzas and two sides, $6 for two pizzas and one side, and $4 off one pizza and two sides.

Checkers and Rally’s

Checkers or Rally’s Rewards members who bought one Big Buford or Baconzilla at participating Checkers and Rally’s through May 29, 2023, got a second one free. Offer was valid on orders placed through their mobile app.

Chicken Shack

When you used code SUPER online, or presented this coupon in restaurant you could get $5 off a Super Special at Chicken Shack. They also offered $5 off a Hot N Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich with promo code SANDWICH online orders or with a coupon for in-restaurant orders. Offers were valid until May 31, 2023.

Cinnabon

From May 26 – 29, 2023, you could take advantage of a buy one, get one free baked good when you signed up for the free Cinnabon Rewards program and used the code BONSOUT in the Cinnabon app. They also offered $0 delivery on $15+ online or in-app orders. The discount was automatically applied during checkout.

Cinnabon also had a $15 limited-time Frost Yourself Bundle (two Classic Rolls and Two Refreshers) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. This offer was available through May 31, in the Cinnabon app and online.

For military members, Cinnabon offered a 15% military discount at participating locations.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse had a $67 Memorial Day Prix Fixe Menu. Options included four entrees to select from, Pan Seared Salmon, Roasted Jidori Half Chicken, Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna, or a 6oz Filet Mignon. You needed to mention the offer to receive the Prix Fixe Menu.

Del Taco

Del Taco Yeah! Rewards members enjoyed free delivery on orders of $20+ online at DelTaco.com or through their mobile app. The offer was valid through June 11, 2023. You had to apply the offer from the “REWARDS/YOUR OFFERS” section in the Del Yeah! app during checkout.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

You could have saved $10 off orders of $55+ and free delivery at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit when you used the code 10OFF55 during checkout.

Dunkin’

Dunkin’ Rewards members enjoyed a free Dunkin coffee every Monday in May with a purchase, and the offer was also honored on Memorial Day, because it’s on a Monday. On May 29, 2023, Dunkin’ offered a free medium iced or hot coffee with any purchase.

Note that Dunkin’ does not have a universal military discount, but some locations offer 10-15% off for military personnel, depending on the location.

Farmer Boys

When you bought a 2-Egg Breakfast Sandwich you got a second one 50% off for a limited time at Farmer Boys. They also had a $3 Big Cheese Burger from 2 p.m. – close at participating locations on May 28th, 2023.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill (military exclusive)

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill honored active military and veterans by treating them to a free (dine-in only) lunch or dinner entree on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. For military dining with family or friends, the complimentary entree (of equal or lesser value) was for a Gold Star family member, veteran, or active-duty service member dining in the restaurant on Memorial Day. Reservations were recommended. You had to wear your uniform or show a valid military ID, U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID Card, Current Leave and Earning Statement, Photograph in uniform, or a Veterans Organization Card.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

On Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, guests enjoyed a Signature Burger ($30 per guest) or Filet Mignon Sandwich ($35 per guest) paired with a glass of Flowers Pinot Noir at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. A glass of Flowers Pinot Noir was included.

Fogo de Chao

Military veterans and active-duty personnel saved 50% off their food at Fogo de Chao on Memorial Day 2023. Plus, up to three guests got 10% off their meals as well. You had to show your military ID in order to gain access to this deal. The Brazilian Steakhouse has 58 restaurants in the U.S.

Godfather’s Pizza

For a limited time, Godfather’s Pizza offered a buy any regular-price large pizza, get a second pizza (equal or lesser value) for a $10 deal at participating Godfather’s Pizza locations. Offer was for dine-in only.

Golden Chick

For a limited time in 2023, you snag 20 chicken tenders and rolls at Golden Chick for $27.99.

Honey Baked Ham Company

Through May 29, 2023, you could get $7 off a $50 purchase at participating Honey Baked Ham Company Locations.

Hooters

Hooters celebrated Memorial Day and National Hamburger Day (Sunday, May 28) all weekend long. When dining in restaurant Saturday, May 27, through Monday, May 29, 2023, you could build your own burger deal, including fries for $9.99.

At Hooters, veterans and military members receive 10% off all year long, not just on Memorial Day.

IHOP

Participating IHOP locations offered free delivery on orders made through their IHOP website and app through May 30, 2023.

While IHOP does typically offer a free breakfast for military members on Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2023), there is not a Memorial Day offer for military members.

Insomnia Cookies

Insomnia Cookies offered 20% off orders of $25+ when you used the promo code SUMMER23 online. Offer was only valid for pickup and delivery orders.

Jollibee

During Memorial Day weekend, you could get $5 off any Bucket Treat when you used the promo code MEMORIAL5 at participating Jollibee restaurants. Offer was valid until May 29, 2023.

KFC

KFC offered their 8-piece Original Recipe deal for $10 (an average of 45% savings off regular menu prices) exclusively through KFC.com and the KFC app until June 2, 2023. This offer was also available for their 8-piece Extra Crispy Tenders with four dipping sauces.

Krispy Kreme

When you bought one dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts through May 29, 2023, you could get a dozen Original Glazed for $2 when you used the promo code FREEDOM during checkout at KrispyKreme.com or in the Krispy Kreme mobile app.

Lenny & Larry’s

When you used the code 20MDAY during Memorial Day weekend at the Lenny & Larry’s website, you’ll get 20% off on all your cookie orders. This code was valid from May 26 – 30.

Little Caesars

Get a large two topping pizza for $7.99 at Little Caesars when you use the promo code TOPPINGS1 during checkout. Offer is good through June 4, 2023.

Marco’s Pizza

Marco’s Pizza had a couple of Memorial Day weekend deals for you. If you used the promo code NEWMAG during checkout you got a discount on their Magnifico pizzas. And, when you use the code MEM23 through May 28, 2023 you saved 20% off menu-priced pizzas.

Max & Erma’s (military exclusive)

On Monday, May 29, 2023, active military members, Gold Star Families, and veterans received 25% off their entire table at participating Max & Erma’s locations (not available at Lancaster, OH, or airport locations). No coupon necessary. You had to show proof of military association.

MOD Pizza

For a limited time you could grab a Pocket Pie Meal Deal (Pocket Pie and drink) at MOD Pizza for $9.99.

Mrs. Fields

MrsFields.com had a 30% off deal for select items during their Memorial Day promotion. No code was necessary.

Nothing Bundt Cake

Nothing Bundt Cake sent a coupon to their eClub members for $5 off orders of $10 or more through May 27, 2023, with the code 5OFF4U at checkout online.

O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar

O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar had a $5 off any burger deal on Sunday May 28, 2023. No promo code was necessary.

Olgas Kitchen

When you used the code NEWAPPS15 you could get a free starter or shareable appetizer on orders of $15 or more at Olga’s Kitchen through May 29, 2023. You had to put the appetizer or starter in your cart in order to get the discount.

Original Tommy’s

Through May 29, 2023 you could get Original Tommy’s World-Famous 32oz Chili-To-Go for $5.77. There was no code necessary and no limit to how many you buy. You had to mention the offer to your cashier.

Outback Steakhouse

Dine Rewards members could get a free Bloomin’ Onion at participating Outback Steakhouse locations when they buy an adult entree through May 29, 2023. Offer was valid for in restaurant or via online ordering at Outback.com or through the Outback app.

Palm Restaurant

Guests enjoyed a Memorial Day Weekend Menu at participating Palm Restaurants through May 31, 2023. The $59 (per guest) menu included five entree options, including 6 oz Filet Mignon, Pappardelle Bolognese, Chicken Parmigiana, Tuscan Atlantic Salmon, and Shrimp Sauté.

Papa Murphy’s

You could get 25% off at Papa Murphy’s when you use the promo code MURPHY25 during Memorial Day weekend.

Pollo Campero

You could save 15% off catering when you used the promo code SUMMER23 (online and app orders) at Pollo Campero through May 29, 2023. You had to mention discount if ordering in restaurant.

Popeye’s

When you buy a 6-Piece Ghost Pepper Wings for $5 (pick-up only) or $6 (delivery only) at participating Popeyes you get a free regular side. Offer is valid through June 4, 2023.

Red Robin

If you signed up for the free Red Robin Royalty program through the end of May you could get a BOGO 50% off a burger or entree when you bought one of equal or lesser value.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill

Ruby Tuesday

Smokey Mo’s BBQ

Smokey Mo’s BBQ celebrated National Brisket Day (May 28) from May 26 – 29, 2023. You could pick up breakfast tacos (reg. $3.04) for only $2 — a 34.2% discount. This deal was only available during their breakfast hours (from open to 10:30 a.m.).

STK Steakhouse (military exclusive)

Memorial Day weekend 2023, Veterans, Active Duty, Gold Star Families & Reserves got 20% off at STK Steakhouse. They offered specials, including Patio Brunch, Dinner, Memorial Day Happy Hour and their Red, White, and Blue Steak Topping for $19.95! all weekend long. You had to present valid military ID.

Subway

Subway has a buy one foot-long sub, get one 50% off for a limited time with promo code BOGO50. Offer excluded wraps. Limit one offer per order. Certain locations are also offering BOGO FREE footlongs with code FREEFL when you order through the Subway app or website.

Taco Bell

From May 26 – 28, Taco Bell offered their Cheesy Gordita Crunch Buy One Get One of equal or lesser value with orders of $20+. You had to add two Cheesy Gordita Crunches to your cart and use the code 2XCHEESYG2305 during checkout at TacoBell.com or in the Taco Bell app. Only one offer per customer.

Texas de Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse (military exclusive)

Veterans and active military members could save 25% off a regular dinner at Texas de Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse May 29 – June 1, 2023. To receive the discount you had to present valid military ID and mention the offer to your server before dining. The offer was valid for dine-in only up to four guests per table/reservation.

TGI Fridays

Through May 29, 2023, you could have saved 25% off Family Meal Bundles, Platters, and Party Trays at participating TGI Fridays when you used the promo code MEMORIAL25 during checkout. Valid only on orders through Fridays.com or call-in take-out orders.

Tijuana Flats

When you bought a Taco Meal Kit (feeds up to six people) at participating Tijuana Flats locations for $34.99 through May 28, 2023, you received free Churro Bites.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Twin Peaks (military exclusive)

In honor of our military members, participating Twin Peaks locations held a costume party and offered military specials from May 27 – 29, 2023.

Wendy’s

Wendy’s celebrated both National Hamburger Day (May 28) and Memorial Day (May 29) by giving us $0.01 Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers (regularly $3.39) with any purchase from May 26 to June 1, 2023.

Which Wich

You saved $10 off Wich Catering trays at Which Wich through May 29, 2023, when you used the code 1OOFFCATERING during checkout.

Wienerschnitzel

Through May 28, 2023 you could get two chili dogs and medium fries at Wienerschnitzel for $5 when you used this coupon.

Yondu Vegetable Umami Sauce

Restaurants that offer military discounts year-round, not just on Memorial Day.

We’ve got a list of more than 100 military discounts, and these include a bunch of food deals available every day:

• A&W gives military (active and retired) 10% off year-round with ID.

• Applebee’s gives military (active and retired) 10% off year-round with ID.

• Arby’s gives 10% off at select locations for military personnel with ID.

• Bennigan’s gives active and retired military 10% off in store.

• Bob Evans takes 10% off the total bill for ID’d members of the military (and gives a free entree on Veterans Day).

• Bojangles gives customers 10% off with military ID.

• Bonefish Grill gives military personnel and first responders 10% off their bill with ID.

• El Pollo Loco offers 15% off (but no more than $1.50 off) for military personnel and first responders with ID.

• Fuddruckers offers a military discount year-round when you show valid ID at participating Fuddruckers restaurants.

• Hooters has a 10% daily discount and 20% off on Tuesdays with military ID. They also get a free entree on Memorial Day.

• IHOP offers customers with valid military ID 10-15% off their bill, depending on location.

• Jersey Mike’s takes 10% off the bill for service members.

• Logan’s Roadhouse gives veterans and active-duty service members 10% off every day. Plus, they have free meal offers throughout the year.

• Long John Silver’s hosts Military Mondays where customers get 20% off with military ID. The rest of the time, they offer 10% off.

• Medieval Times offers special discount ticket prices for all military personnel and their families.

• The Melting Pot has a 10% off military discount every day (excluding holidays).

• Outback Steakhouse offers all military servicemen and women, police officers, and firefighters 10% off their entire check.

• Red Lobster hosts Military Mondays, which gives all active-duty military personnel 10% off their meal.

• Shoney’s discounts their meals 15% for all members of the military and first responders.
