How to Save on Nike, UGG, Converse & Other Top Shoe Brands
Buying top brands usually means spending top dollar. But if you’re looking for savings on Nike, TOMS, Adidas, UGG, Birkenstock or Converse, savings of 30% are guaranteed. Savings of up to 75% are completely possible.
Whatever shoes you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered with savings tips.
Let’s get to it.
1. Buy Nike shoes during Famous Footwear and Finish Line sales for 50 – 70% off.
When it comes to getting Nike shoes for sale, you have options! Keep tabs on these stores (or our Nike deals) to get the best discounts:
Famous Footwear offers BOGO 50% off sales a few times a year. We’ve seen Nike runners for as low as $27.50 each (regularly $59.99-$84.99). Then, plan to buy two pairs to take advantage of the BOGO 50% off sale, and you could ring up around $27.50 per pair after you apply the coupon.
Finish Line’s End-of-Season Sale happens in January/February and again in September/October. It’s a great time to shop online, especially for up to 50% off Nike. Plus, Finish Line offers free shipping when you spend $30.
Nike Clearance Stores
Nike Clearance Stores are the last stop for Nike merchandise that doesn’t sell. You could save up to 70% on your Nike shoes in store! If you don’t live near a Nike Clearance Store (here’s the Nike store locator), you can shop online at Nike’s clearance outlet deals and discounts for up to 40% off new markdowns and 60% off clearance items.
Nike Factory Stores
Otherwise, you can use our 31 Insanely Smart Nike Factory Store Hacks to shop Nike overstock and clearance. We walk straight to the Hash Wall (clearance section) and don’t settle for anything less than 50% off retail price. We’ve also got 16 great tips to score cheap Nike gear, if you’re looking for more than just shoes.
2. Get exclusive Nike gear from Dick’s Sporting Goods online.
Nike has recently linked its loyalty program with Dick’s Sporting Goods’ membership program. Dick’s members will get access to exclusive Nike shoes and apparel online at DicksSportingGoods.com and will also have access to future in-person workout events in Dick’s stores. There is also the possibility that this new collaboration will allow Nike customers to drop off their in-store and online Nike purchases to Dick’s stores.
3. Buy UGG boots at Nordstrom Rack’s Clear the Rack events or year-round from Zappos.
We have lots of ways to save on UGG boots, but here are a couple of our favorites:
Every other month, Nordstrom Rack has Clear the Rack clearance events, where we’ve seen UGG boots discounts of up to 75% off retail price. The rest of the year, look to find UGG boots for at least 25% off MSRP, but up to 60% off.
And we can help you knock even more off the final price with our Nordstrom Rack sale hacks.
For year-round savings, Zappos consistently has the biggest selection of UGG sale items, and although other retailers come close, they consistently win — if only by 5 cents. Zappos sells a massive number of discontinued UGG boots, slippers, sneakers, and sandals. You’ll save an average of 30% on MSRP, but we’ve seen discounts as high as 53%!

4. Save an average of 30% on Birkenstock sandals at Zappos.
Amazon-owned Zappos.com has the largest selection of styles on sale. Expect savings of around 30%, on average, but they’re consistently offering sales of 20-40% off the most popular Birkenstock types — Arizona, Mayari, Gizeh, and Madrid.
You’ll also get free shipping, no matter the size of your order, and free returns. Couldn’t find Birks you like? We gotchu with all the Ways to Get Birkenstocks on Sale.
5. Find Converse Chuck Taylor Allstars up to 70% off at 6pm.com and Eastbay, or save up to 60% during December.
You’ll save an average of 30% on Converse Chuck Taylors at any point in the year at 6pm.com — but we’ve seen flash sales up to 70% off. We recommend buying women’s Chuck Taylor Low Tops when they reach $22 or less, and buy High Tops when they reach $24 or less. In mid-December 2020 6pm.com had up to 60% savings on Chuck Taylors.
Eastbay, owned by Footlocker, is well known for its extensive specialty sneaker selection, but it’s also a great place to save up to 50% on Converse shoes. Their Converse sale section has a huge variety of colors and styles, so you’re sure to find a pair you like.
6. Look for TOMS shoes for up to 68% off at 6pm.com — or wait for up to 75% off during a TOMS Surprise Sale.
You’ll find the best deals on TOMS Alpargata (the classic style) for kids when you shop TOMS online directly. About once a month, you’ll find select TOMS for kids on sale; buy when you can get them for $20 or less (reg. $41.95). For women’s and men’s, you can get pairs of TOMS at 6pm.com for up to 68% off anytime.
You can also sign up to be notified when the TOMS Surprise Sale goes live. The sale is an online-only pop-up-shop sale that happens a couple times a year. You’ll save up to 75% on TOMS. We’ve seen the surprise sale in December 2020, May 2021, and September 2021 — so keep an eye out for it in winter 2021!
If you didn’t know, 6pm is an online store and a sister site of Zappos (owned by Amazon). We’ll tell you all about why 6pm.com shoes prices are worth paying attention to.
7. Grab Crocs up to 64% off at Amazon.
Amazon has a bunch of different kinds of Crocs, but we found some retired colors of the Classic Clog that cost just $18.00 per pair — that’s 64% off! It’s the best place to find pretty much any style of Crocs you could want, and you’ll pay an average of 30% cheaper than retail.
We’ve got a ton more tips about how to get Crocs on sale.
8. Buy Adidas and Puma at Rack Room Shoes to stack BOGO 50% off promos with 25% off sales.
It’s pretty difficult to find reliable discounts on Puma, but we found Puma and Adidas shoes for up to 48% off at Rack Room Shoes. In general, you can expect to save around 25% on your favorite styles.
Recently, they had as many as 108 Puma styles on sale, so you’ve got a lot of options! Stack the BOGO 50% off sale with their low prices. For example, you could get 2 pairs of Puma Women’s Carina sneakers for $44.99 a pair (reg. $64.99, 30% off) and stack the BOGO 50% off deal to get $22.50 off one pair — bringing your grand total to $67.48, a whopping 48% off retail.
Officially, Rack Room Shoes says Adidas is excluded from coupons, promos, and discounts like the BOGO 50% off sale. But when I added 2 pairs of the Adidas Women Entrap Sneaker for $34.99 (reg. $64.99, 48% off), the sale worked, bringing my total to $52.48 — 60% off retail. Is this a fluke? Who knows, but it’s worth trying for yourself.
9. Save at least 50% when you buy Carter’s shoes from 6pm.com or Carters.com.
Typically Carter’s isn’t the cheapest place to buy Carter’s-brand clothing… so you have to watch for sales.
We’ve seen some huge sales at Carters.com: up to 50% off their ENTIRE site and BOGO 50% off new styles! Both of these sales happen a couple times a year, and in October 2021 they occurred at the same time, which is super rare.
10. Shop Vans.com to get an average of 30% off adult and 26% off kids’ shoes.
You’ll find kids’ Vans up to 33% off with average savings around 26%.
11. Get an average of 49% off Frye leather shoes at Nordstrom Rack.
We love Nordy Rack (that’s why we found 25 Nordstrom Rack sales hacks), so it’s no surprise we go to them for steep discounts on Frye boots and shoes. You’ll save a whopping average of 49% on retail prices when you shop Nordstrom Rack, but you can get up to 60% off if you look there at the right time — like a Clear the Rack clearance sale.
Sizes are generally pretty limited; one style we found only had 2 pairs in one size available. Sales come and go; one week there were no Frye boots to be found, and a week later, there were a bunch. Check back often, and grab a pair when they come up
