Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) is one of our favorite places to find shoe deals, and now we can shoe shop while we grocery shop.
One-stop shopping has long been a feature at places like Walmart and Kroger’s multi-department store Fred Meyer, but Midwest grocer Hy-Vee is doing something a little different.
Here’s what you need to know:
Hy-Vee is opening a half dozen DSW mini-shops this month.
The first two opened in the Minneapolis area earlier this month, and by the end of September, six Hy-Vee locations will have mini-DSWs.
The grocer has plans to continue expanding the concept across their 8-state territory in 2021.
You can use Hy-Vee and DSW gift cards to buy shoes at the grocery store.
The store-within-a-store is really just a DSW-branded shoe section inside select Hy-Vee stores.
There’s not a special shoe store checkout, and you’ll be able to use both DSW gift cards and Hy-Vee gift cards to make your shoe purchases.
Make sure you keep tabs on gift card reseller Raise.com. Right now they have gobs of discount DSW gift cards (up to 5% off the value of the card), and from time to time they carry Hy-Vee gift cards, too.
Earn and spend DSW VIP points at Hy-Vee.
You get 1 point for every $1 you spend at DSW, and a $5 reward for every 100 points you earn. The $5 VIP birthday reward works at the grocery store, too.
You can place an order at DSW.com and pick it up at Hy-Vee.
According to DSW, select locations will have pickup lockers, where customers can pick up their online orders contactless and in store.
And if Hy-Vee doesn’t have the selection you’re looking for, each location with a mini-DSW will have a “digital showroom wall” that shows off popular products and gives customers the ability to order them from DSW.com.
