What is the The Summer I Turned Pretty about?

summer i turned pretty for free

The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on Jenny Han’s beloved 2009 novel of the same name. Han wrote It’s Not Summer Without You in 2010 and We’ll Always Have Summer in 2011, which Amazon has adapted into their Prime Video series, with Han serving as the creator and co-showrunner of the series. If her name sounds familiar, she’s also the executive producer on the films To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and To All the Boys: Always and Forever, all on Netflix, which are based on another book series she wrote of the same name.

The Summer I Turned Pretty tells the story of 15-year-old Belly and her summer vacations at Cousins Beach, where she spends every summer with her mom, Laurel, her mom’s friend, Susannah, and Susannah’s two sons, Jeremiah and Conrad. There is a love triangle involved, which sparks many fans to be “Team Jeremiah” or “Team Conrad.” However, “Team Belly” is my personal vote.

Right now, Prime members can watch The Summer I Turned Pretty first season here. Season one consisted of 7 episodes, which premiered in 2022.

Season 2 consists of 8 episodes, with the first two episodes “Love Lose” and “Love Scene” being available to stream on July 14. New episodes will then be released on July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11 and the final will air on August 18, 2023.
