Remember back in 2022 when Amazon offer Prime members Grubhub Plus free for an entire year, then extended for another? Well, here we are in 2024, and Amazon has made it official. Grubhub is now one of their permanent Prime benefits. This is on top of all the other perks of having an Amazon Prime membership, including free access to Amazon Prime Music, and free books with Prime Reading.

The best part is Grubhub is now part of the Amazon app, so Prime members don't need to jump back and forth between the two. Wondering how Grubhub Plus in the Amazon works? Here's what you need to know.

Make sure to download the Krazy Coupon Lady app for more money-saving tips. Or, text HACKS to 57299.

Starbucks delivery coming to Grubhub.

Starbucks and Grubhub recently announced their partnership. That means you can order your Starbucks while shopping Amazon using your Amazon Grubhub+ account. Hold on to your excitement! For now, you can only order Starbucks with Grubhub in Colorado, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. You'll have to wait a bit longer if you live in a different state than these three. According to Starbucks, fans in all 50 states can order Starbucks delivery at Grubhub.com and in the Grubhub app (and track your order) by August 2024.

Amazon Prime members can enjoy Grubhub+ free forever. (well, sorta)

As long as you're an active Prime member, Student Prime member, or an Amazon Prime Access member you can enjoy Grubhub Plus for free. If you cancel your Prime membership, you will lose your free Grubhub+ deal as well, immediately.

Save $120 a year with Amazon Prime and Grubhub+.

Grubhub Plus is regularly $119.88 a year, as a Prime member your Grubhub Plus subscription is free. Here's a look at Grubhub+ benefits:

  • $0 delivery fees on eligible orders of $12 or more

  • lower service fees

  • 5% Grubhub+ credit back on pickup orders

  • Exclusive offers

Plus, you can order and track your food delivery through the Amazon app or at Amazon.com. Even non-Prime members can order through Grubhub on Amazon (however, non-Prime members will not recieve $0 delivery fees).

Save $5 on a $25 Grubhub order with a promo code.

Prime members can get $5 off a $25 Grubhub delivery orders when you use the promo code PRIME5 during checkout.

Activate the Amazon Prime Grubhub+ offer.

To activate the Amazon Prime Grubhub Plus offer or to place a Grubhub order you must be logged into your Amazon account.

  • First, you'll need to visit the Amazon Grubhub Plus Offer page online. Click the activate now button.

  • If you're not a Prime member you can either select Join Prime or Continue without Prime.

  • Next, you must allow Grubhub Plus to access your Amazon account, regardless of whether you're a Prime member or not.

  • After that, you can place your first Grubhub order.

If you already have an existing Grubhub Plus account you'll need to link it with your Amazon account. Just activate the offer as described above (Prime or non-Prime member) and the accounts will link. If you have a different email for each account you will need to follow these steps:

  • Your Active Apps & Websites page.

  • Tap the Remove button under Manage Connection.

  • Visit the Grubhub website.

  • Sign in with your original Grubhub account.

  • Go into your Grubhub profile.

  • Add Amazon connection to that account.

To place a Grubhub order in Amazon.

Once you've created or linked a Grubhub Plus account you should see the Grubhub order now button on your home page. If you don't you can enter "Grubhub" in the search bar.

Expect higher prices when ordering through Grubhub.

Like other third-pary delivery services, Grubhub marks up prices. How much? For our example, the difference was about $10.

We placed an order (two full subs and a regular order of fries) in Amazon, through the Grubhub app, and directly through a restaurant's website (Penn Station Subs). Here's a quick breakdown (without tax):

  • Amazon: $43.91

  • Grubhub: $43.91

  • Restaurant: $33.77

We selected pickup for 5% credit back, but that still made Grubhub $5 more the directly ordering through the restaurant. The same is true for the $5 off a $25 order promo code from above, it'll still leave you paying an extra $5.

Pay with a discounted Grubhub gift card from Raise.

Sadly, if you're a Prime Visa cardholder, you won't get 5% back on your Grubhub orders. Here's your workaround; buy a discounted gift card at Raise.

Right now, Raise is offering Grubhub gift cards up to 6.1% off, which is an extra 1% back in your wallet. When we stack the discounted gift card and the promo code PRIME5 our total comes out to $36.54 (only $2.77 more than directly ordering through the restauarant). Way better!

Use a cashback credit card for your Grubhub Plus orders.

You can earn cash back on dining out, takeout and delivery orders with select credit cards. For an example: American Express Gold Card will earn 4X rewards, while Chase Unlimited Freedom card will earn you 3% cashback.

How to cancel Grubhub Plus on Amazon.

If you no longer want to use the free Grubhub Plus subscription on Amazon you can cancel at any time.

  • Go to Your Account

  • Select Manage apps & services with data access page (at the very bottom of the page under Manage your data section)

  • Tap the Remove button

  • You can also contact Grubhub customer service if you have any trouble cancelling.

Remember, if you cancel your Prime membership you'll automatically lose your free Grubhub Plus subscription.
