We’re going to get straight to the point: if you’re buying makeup without any coupons, sale prices, or cash back in the mix, Walmart sells seven out of 10 top-selling drugstore cosmetics for less than Walgreens. But things change a bit if you’re part of the myWalgreens Rewards program. It’s free to join, earns you cash back, and lets you take advantage of regularly offered BOGO deals, plus makeup coupons. With this, the same makeup will sometimes cost you way less at Walgreens. So at the end of the day, is makeup cheaper at Walmart or Walgreens?
Well, it depends on a few things. For example, you have to consider the brand, product, coupons available, and rewards programs. Below, we call out specific makeup brands and products to compare the costs at both retailers. And don’t worry, we made sure to compare the same size for each product.

1. Save up to $10 on Covergirl LashBlast Mascara at Walmart without coupons.
Walmart sells Covergirl LashBlast Mascara for $8.98 per tube. But Walgreens will offer the same mascara for $11.99, along with a BOGO 50% off deal. This means you can end up buying two mascaras at Walgreens for a total of $17.98, or $8.99 each. On top of that, Walgreens lets you stack coupons. In the past week, we’ve seen them offer a $2 coupon on one tube of the LashBlast mascara. Walmart doesn’t even let you use coupons on their site.
So where does this leave us? You can get one tube of LashBlast mascara for $6.99 at its cheapest, but you’d have to pay $11.99 for a second mascara. Overall, you’re still saving $10 at Walmart without coupons when you compare both deals.

2. Spend $0.05 less on Maybelline Fit Me foundation every day at Walmart.
Check your KCL app or Walgreens app for a Maybelline Fit Me foundation deal before heading straight to Walmart for their $6.94 everyday price. At the time of this article, Walgreens offered the same foundation of the same size for $8.99.
Walgreens offers coupons all the time, like $2 off one foundation or $4 off two. You couldn’t stack these specific coupons, so that brings us down to $6.99 for one foundation or $13.98 for two. Walmart’s everyday low price still wins.
3. Get the same Physicians Formula bronzer for $6.37 less at Walmart.
Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer is on sale for just $10.12 at Walmart. But even before sales, its original $15.99 price tag is cheaper than Walgreens‘ offer at $16.49. All in all, you’ll save $6.37 for the same sunkissed glow! The only pro about shopping with Walgreens is that you can get same-day delivery on this bronzer, while Walmart would ship it the next day.
4. Enjoy up to $6 savings on L’Oreal Paris True Match Eye Cream Concealer from Walmart.
Look out for regular coupons for up to $5 off Walgreens’ L’Oreal Paris True Match Eye Cream Concealer to bring their everyday price of $15.99 down to just $10.99. They do offer $5 cash back on this purchase, but you’ll have to spend another $10 to qualify since the offer is only valid on orders over $25.
But if you’re shopping without coupons, you can get the same concealer in select shades for as low as $9.99 at Walmart. (We’ve even seen it go down to $8 in the past).
5. Save $0.97 every day on the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil at Walgreens without coupons.
Even without coupons or sales, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil is $4.50 every day at Walgreens compared to $5.47 at Walmart. Even better, you can also stack coupons if available when purchasing at Walgreens, making for even more savings. And if you end up buying additional products to tally your order over $25, you can earn $5 cash back.
6. Buy the same Almay Healthy Hue Blush for $5 less at Walmart.
Use a regularly offered $4-off-two blushes coupon at Walgreens to take your Almay Healthy Hue Blush down to $9.99 and $13.99 per blush. However, Walmart‘s everyday price of $8.98 is better, even without coupons.
7. Save $1.73 on Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizing Lip Gloss at Walmart.
Walgreens tends to offer fewer Neutrogena coupons than other brands like Covergirl. So if you’re in a bind and need that Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizing Lip Gloss without waiting for a coupon or sale, Walmart‘s price wins at just $7.76 compared to $9.49 at Walgreens.
But there’s a catch. Walgreens offers four colors at a consistent price of $9.49. Walmart offers 14 colors, but prices on certain colors, like Ballet Pink, can go up to $13.99. So watch out!
8. Make your Essie nail polish last longer for up to $6 less at Walgreens.
Walgreens‘ everyday price beats Walmart’s when it comes to Essie nail polish. And what we especially love is that they offer more colors, and all are priced consistently at $10. For whatever reason, Walmart prices different colors at varying rates, from $6.27 all the way up to $15.96. And they have limited inventory.
9. Overall, Covergirl TrueNaked Eyeshadow Palettes are cheaper at Walmart.
Walgreens frequently offers Covergirl coupons, too, taking their everyday price of $9.99 on the Covergirl TrueNaked Eyeshadow Palette in Sunsets down to just $7.99. Walmart’s everyday price for Sunsets is $7.97. (We noticed that Walmart will sometimes say it’s on sale for $7.97, but the retailer seems to use that tactic a lot when they’re really advertising the actual everyday price).
Walmart offers colors of eyeshadow palettes, but prices vary for each one. You can pay as low as $5.18 for a more colorful palette or as high as $13.95 for a more neutral palette.
10. Save at least $0.99 every day on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick at Walmart.
Unless Walgreens is offering a stellar deal, saving $4.03 every day at Walmart on your Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is a no-brainer. Walmart’s price is as low as $5.96 (after sales) depending on the shade, while Walgreens’ is $9.99. We’ve even seen Walmart’s price drop to $4.82 in the past.
