We’ve all been searching for the perfect Ugg alternatives since the Ugg minis took the Internet by storm. But I know I’m not trying to spend $150 on a pair of shoes. And while you check out Ugg’s Black Friday sale, not all styles are eligible for discounts. (Though this is a sure way to get the best deal on name-brand Uggs).

But if you want to save even more — like up to 80% cheaper — I found some pretty solid Ugg alternatives that I’ll share below. So if you’re trying to be cozy without breaking the bank, read on.

There are plenty of look-alikes that have the classic Ugg aesthetic: the round toe, the outer stitching, and the textured sole. And no look-alike would be complete without a fuzzy lining. So why is there such a huge difference in price? It’s because look-alikes are made with synthetic materials. Uggs are predominantly made from real wool and sheepskin, which can be really pricey.

While there is a difference in quality between natural and synthetic materials, the huge difference in price makes up for the subtle difference in texture in my opinion. Not to mention that you’re also partially paying for the brand name when you buy an authentic Ugg.

Overall, if you’re not too concerned about whether or not the boot is name brand (though I’m sure it’s NBD since you read this far), I say go for the Ugg alternative. Here are the ones I recommend.

Why is the Ugg Mini Boot so popular?

Ugg minis have everything we love about OG Uggs. They’re warm, comfy, and lined with the fuzziest fuzz to ever fuzz. They’ve got that classic camel color that goes with basically everything. But there’s one key difference between the classic and the mini: their length. While the classic went up to the mid-calf, the mini ends at the ankle.

This means the mini is better suited to the changes in denim trends we’ve been seeing. When skinny jeans were the only acceptable jeans, the classic boots made more sense because it was easier to tuck trouser legs into the shoe. (Bootcut jeans were basically impossible to tuck into taller Uggs). However, as skinny jeans have become “cheugy” and fallen out of fashion, wide-leg and mom jeans have become the Gen Z dress code. The Ugg mini is the obvious choice for fans of wider-legged denim, making them a must-have for many Ugg-aficionados.

So now that we’ve established why the Ugg mini is having its moment, let’s be real about the cost. The Ugg mini is a whopping $150 at the list price. Sure, they go on sale occasionally, but the lowest price we’ve seen in the last year is $104. I don’t know about you, but I simply cannot afford to spend triple digits on one pair of shoes in this economy. Even if they are as trendy as the minis.
