Walmart is queen not only of the Black Friday sale, but of early Black Friday sales. Since 2020, Walmart has released multiple waves of official Black Friday deals in several-day chunks. And in some cases, the deals that came around during the first wave didn't come back during the second.

Now that Walmart has officially announced their plans for the 2025 sale, here what to expect so that you're ready for every single wave of deals.

Here are the most important dates you need to know for 2025:

  • Nov. 14 - 16: First wave of Black Friday deals, online and in stores (Walmart+ members can shop starting at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 13)

  • Nov. 25 - 27: Second wave of online-only Black Friday deals (Walmart+ members can shop starting at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 24)

  • Nov. 28 – 30: Second wave of online and in-store Black Friday deals

  • Dec. 1: Online-only Cyber Monday deals (Walmart+ members can shop starting at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 30)

What KCL Experts Think You Should Know

  • Here's when to shop: The first wave of Walmart Black Friday 2025 starts Nov. 14 online and in stores (7 p.m. ET start on Nov. 13 for Walmart+ members), with the second wave running online Nov. 25 – 27 and in stores Nov. 28 – 30.

  • Here's when stores open: Online deals typically start at midnight on the start date, while in-store deals start when doors open. On Black Friday, Walmart stores open at 6 a.m. local time.

  • Use the KCL app:  Download the free KCL app to set Deal Planner alerts so you never miss a price drop or hot deal.

  • Walmart+ membership: Paid members get five hours of early access online for each wave. You don’t need Walmart+ to get the best deals unless you’re chasing a restock or very limited items.

  • Look for “Special Buys”: Walmart’s term for limited-quantity, lowest-price items. These often drop online first and sell out fast.

  • Walmart stores are closed on Thanksgiving: Stores reopen Friday, Nov. 28 for in-store shoppers.

  • Price matching and rain checks: Walmart doesn't offer either during Black Friday.

  • Shipping and returns: Free shipping or store pickup on orders of $35 or more. Most items purchased starting Oct. 1 can be returned through Jan. 31, 2026.

  • Expect big discounts across categories: Look for up to 70% off TVs, vacuums, electronics, and gaming, plus 50% off toys, home goods, and more.

Tips on How to Make Your Deal Shopping a Success

  • Shopping Options: Deals are available both online and in stores. Most items go live online several days before they hit stores.

  • Special Buys and Doorbusters: Walmart no longer has traditional doorbusters. Look for items labeled “Special Buy” — these are limited-quantity deals that drop online first and sell out quickly.

  • Membership Perks: Walmart+ members get five hours of early access to online deals. This is only necessary if you’re chasing restocks or high-demand items.

  • Store Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

  • Shipping and Pickup: Walmart shipping and store pickup are free on orders of at least $35.

  • Returns: Walmart extends their return policy for the holidays. For most items purchased as early as Oct. 1, you have until Jan. 31 to return them.

  • Payment Options: Affirm and Klarna are available at checkout; no layaway this year.

  • Cyber Monday Sale: Walmart Cyber Monday deals are one day only on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, online only.
