1. You have two options for Walmart pickup: in store or contactless curbside.

You have two options for Walmart Pickup: in store or curbside. Regardless of how you choose to pick up your items, you’ll begin your order and shop the same way.

All you have to do is start a pickup order on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app (iOS / Android), reserve a 1-hour time slot, and get shopping. Walmart usually gives you an hour to shop and complete your order before your reserved time slot expires.

When your order is ready, Walmart will send you an email to let you know. You’ll have the option to check in via the app to alert them that you’re on your way.

In-Store Pickup Process

When you arrive at the store, park in a designated pickup spot and head inside. Most Walmart stores will have pickup signs throughout the parking lot to direct you to the right door.

Curbside Pickup Process

Park in a designated pickup spot and stay in your car. Use the app to let them know you’ve arrived or call the number on the sign. A Walmart associate will be right out with your items and load them into your trunk or backseat.

2. Walmart pickup is available seven days a week.

Walmart pickup is available every day of the week, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. If you place your pickup order before 4 p.m., you’ll likely be able to pick it up that same day. Otherwise, it’ll be ready to pick up the next morning.

3. You have to spend at least $35 to avoid a pickup fee for refrigerated goods.

Is Walmart pickup free? On most orders, yes. However, if your order is under $35 and includes refrigerated items (produce, frozen foods, etc.), you’ll be charged a $6.99 pickup fee.

If your pickup order only includes dry items (canned goods, cereal, household supplies), you won’t pay a pickup fee on orders under $35.

All Walmart pickup orders of at least $35 are free, including those with refrigerated items.

4. Thousands of items are eligible for pickup, but inventory depends on what your store has in stock.

Clothing, furniture, electronics, pet supplies — you name it. You can pick up pretty much anything you’d buy from Walmart. The only thing you need to remember is that you’re shopping at whichever local store you choose to pick up from.

So what you can and can’t pick up that same day depends on what’s in stock at that store. Still, every Walmart store holds an average of 142,000 different items, so you always have plenty to choose from.

5. If you miss your pickup time, Walmart will hold your order for four days.

It’s not a huge deal if you miss your pickup time or even if you wait a day to pick up your order. Walmart will hold your order for up to four days. They’ll also email you daily reminders so you don’t forget that your items are waiting. If you don’t pick up your order in four days, they’ll put your items back on the shelf and refund your order total.
