When you’re shopping at Walgreens, you might notice they don’t offer traditional price matching like some other stores. But don’t let that stop you from getting the best deals.
Walgreens price matching can be a bit tricky. While they don’t match competitor prices, Walgreens has their own set of rules for price matching that can still help you save. From taking advantage of myWalgreens rewards to using Walgreens digital coupons, we can help you save at Walgreens without even having to look at a competitor's prices.
And if you do happen to find a better deal elsewhere, knowing the ins and outs of the Walgreens' return policy will come in handy.

How Does Walgreens Price Matching Work?
Walgreens does actually price match, but only with their own regular prices on Walgreens.com — and not with other stores like CVS or Target.
If you do spot a lower price on their website, you can ask for that price in-store. Just keep in mind that the item has to be exactly the same — brand, size, color, you name it.
There are some catches with Walgreens' price matching policy, though. Sale items, promotional offers, and services (like pharmacy and photo) aren’t included in the price matching. And if the item is out of stock, you can’t get a rain check for the online price. The store will double-check the price themselves, so you can't use screenshots or printouts as proof of a lower price.
You’re also limited to one price match per day, and some stores may limit you on how many items you can adjust in one go.
More ways to save at Walgreens:
1. Sign up for their myWalgreens program to get exclusive savings (it's free).
MyWalgreens members get 1% back on Walgreens purchases (even from the pharmacy) and 5% back on Walgreens-branded products. Every time you shop with your myWalgreens account, you’ll earn a percentage back in Walgreens Cash that you can use toward future purchases.
Your Walgreens Cash expires after 12 months, so you have plenty of time to redeem it. But don’t wait too long — if you don’t use your account at all for six months (either earning or redeeming rewards), they'll cancel your account and your Walgreens Cash will disappear.
To sign up for myWalgreens, you’ll enter your email address and phone number. It’s easy, free, and totally worth it if you’re a regular Walgreens customer.
You can redeem Walgreens Cash when you pay for your purchase at checkout, but you’ll have to have at least $1 in Walgreens Cash to redeem it. There’s no myWalgreens card for you to scan at checkout, so don’t worry about having it with you when you shop in store. You can easily check your Walgreens Cash balance by signing in online or in the Walgreens app.
2. Use the Walgreens mobile app to access savings easily.
If you’re serious about saving at Walgreens, download the Walgreens mobile app (iOS / Android). Once you link your myWalgreens account to the app, all your savings and Walgreens deals are in one place, making it easy to shop and save on the go.
Here’s what you can do from the Walgreens mobile app:
Check your Walgreens Cash Rewards balance
Browse the Walgreens weekly ad
View and clip digital coupons for future purchases
Add a credit card to your Wallet for faster, contactless checkouts
View your digital Walgreens receipts
Scan items in store to see if coupons are available
Start a pickup, quick delivery, or shipping order
Manage your pharmacy prescriptions
3. Check the weekly ad for exclusive myWalgreens deals.
Shop weekly ad deals right from the Walgreens app, or see what’s available before you head in store. Here are some examples of the deals you’ll find in the Walgreens weekly ad:
Buy 2 Dawn dish soaps for $2.48, get $1 in Register Rewards
Buy 2 Crest 3D White Toothpastes for $6.98, get $4 in Register Rewards

4. Browse coupons on Walgreens.com or in the app to save even more.
You can also browse available coupons separately from the weekly ad. Visit the “Shop & Savings” section of the app and tap “All Coupons” to see a full list. When you see a coupon you like, all you have to do is tap the “+” icon to add it to your list. You can also do this from the weekly ad if there’s a coupon available.
Once you add all your coupons to your list, they’ll automatically apply to your purchase as long as you activate your myWalgreens account when you check out in store. Coupons will also apply automatically if you shop in the app or online at Walgreens.com.
Even though the Walgreens app has a wide selection of coupons, you can still find manufacturer coupons elsewhere. Clip coupons from inserts in your Sunday newspaper, or print them from coupon sites online.
5. Stack weekly ad deals with coupons and Walgreens Cash Rewards for the biggest savings.
A great way to score 50% to 90% off at Walgreens is by stacking store coupons with manufacturer coupons. Walgreens’ coupon policy allows you to use one of each on a single item.
When you manage to stack a manufacturer coupon, a store coupon, and a Walgreens Cash promotion, that’s when the savings really kick in.
Here’s an example of what that looks like:
When you shop at Walgreens, always aim for at least two savings elements per item, whether that’s a weekly ad sale price, a digital coupon, or an in-store reward.
6. Download the KCL mobile app to see the latest Walgreens deals, moneymakers, and freebies.
When you add Walgreens to your favorite stores in The Krazy Coupon Lady mobile app, you’ll get a customized feed of the hottest deals right on your app homepage. You’ll see all the Walgreens deals you can’t pass up and even score some Walgreens freebies when multiple offers align.
You can also set up deal alerts for common brands and products you’ll find at Walgreens, like Tide, Maybelline, Charmin, and more. Once you set up a deal alert, we’ll send you a push notification anytime there’s a must-have deal available. Download the KCL mobile app to boost your savings at Walgreens and other stores you love!
