Active duty, veterans, and their spouses are eligible for Home Depot’s military discount. It’s one of the more confusing discount programs, so we made it easy by writing a guide to Home Depot’s military discount.

2. Save 5 – 10% with bulk discounts on certain items if you spend over $1,500.

If you’re a Home Depot Pro Xtra member (it’s free) and spend at least $1,500, make sure to check out through the Pro Desk (aka Bid Desk). You’ll also get $20 off your first purchase of $200 or more once enrolled.

Since certain Home Depot vendors give discounts on buying in bulk, you can score some extra savings talking to the Pro Desk. On average, you’ll save between 5 and 10%.

I’ve even heard of people saving 30% on things like light fixtures, vanities, and cabinets.

3. Or get Home Depot bulk pricing on concrete, drywall, and roofing for up to 30% off.

Even if you’re not spending $1,500, you can take advantage of Home Depot bulk pricing on things like insulation, concrete, drywall, and roofing. There’s a minimum you have to buy that will be listed with each product.

4. Shop at Home Depot tax free if you’re a teacher or government employee.

If you’re a teacher or government employee and want to shop tax free, register online for The Home Depot’s Tax Exempt Purchases program. After you’re approved, you’ll get a Home Depot tax exempt ID to use for both online and in-store shopping. Nonprofit business owners and those with a reseller’s permit also qualify for the program.

Anyone using a Federal Government Purchase Card doesn’t need to apply, as the taxes will be automatically removed.

5. Home Depot doesn’t currently offer any other discounts.
