Lowe's military discount is 10% off most regular priced items.

Lowe's runs a military discount program that gives current and retired military members 10% off most regular price items every day of the year.

Exceptions to Lowe's military discount program include gift cards, services (think: carpet installation or large appliance installation), and any protection plans for your purchases.

Lowe's military discount is for current and former service members and their spouses.

Anyone who served or is currently serving in the following branches qualifies for the Lowe's military discount:

  • U.S. Army

  • U.S. Marine Corps

  • U.S. Navy

  • U.S. Air Force

  • U.S. Coast Guard

  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

  • United States Public Health Service (USPHS)

  • National Guard

Veterans of these branches and their spouses simply have to visit the signup page on Lowes.com in order to verify their eligibility for Lowe's military discount. Once you've gone through the verification process, all you need to do is create a Lowes.com account, which will be permanently linked to your military discount.

Veterans and their spouses will need to create their own separate accounts and complete an identical verification process.

Lowe's military discount works online and in stores.

After you go through the verification process and link your military discount to your MyLowe's account, Lowe's will apply the military discount automatically to all of your online purchases. All you have to do is sign into your account prior to making.

If you're shopping in store, tell the cashier you have a military discount and be prepared to show your ID. You might be asked for the phone number associated with your MyLowe's account, but not always. And just like that, you've saved 10%.

You can't stack Lowe's military discount with other discounts, sale prices, or coupons.

The biggest bummer of Lowe's military discount is that they won't let you stack this discount with any other sale, discount, or coupon. It only applies to regular price items.

But you can stack the Lowe's military discount with Lowe's gift cards.

Because gift cards are a form of payment rather than a type of discount or coupon, you can absolutely stack Lowe's military discount with any Lowe's gift card.

And you can save at least a few extra bucks if you buy your Lowe's gift card from Raise.com, which normally has Lowe's gift cards for 4 – 8% off the regular price.

Lowe's won't limit how much you can save with their military discount.

Unlike Home Depot, which limits how much you can save through their military discount at $400 per year, Lowe's places no cap on your military discount savings.

The consensus among veteran communities is that Lowe's offers a better military discount than Home Depot.

The reasoning is pretty simple: Lowe's military discount has fewer exclusions than Home Depot. Lowe's won't cap your military discount savings, and unlike Home Depot, Lowe's doesn't require the service member to be present at the time of purchase in order to receive the discount.
