Additionally, due to staffing shortages, some Dollar General locations closed earlier than others on Thanksgiving Day last year or didn’t open at all. This is because Dollar General has a policy that prohibits any employee from working alone after dark. The policy also allows them to close up shop if they don’t have another team member on duty.
