Is Publix open on Thanksgiving?
No, Publix isn’t open on Thanksgiving. If you’re looking for Publix Thanksgiving hours, you’ll be disappointed to find out they close on Turkey Day — which has been the case since their founding in 1930. This eliminates shopping at Publix on Thanksgiving — and stores that are tucked inside Publix locations, like Starbucks.
So although Publix is out of the running on Thanksgiving Day, there are plenty of stores that are open on Thanksgiving. Convenience stores and pharmacies such as CVS and Walgreens will be open.
If you missed out on getting a famously cheap Publix turkey (we’re talking $0.49 per pound in 2021) in time for Thanksgiving and can’t get your hands on one, maybe you should consider going out to eat at one of the many restaurants open on Thanksgiving.
Publix Thanksgiving Eve Hours
Luckily, Publix grocery stores and Publix pharmacies are open on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday) during regular hours, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., respectively, for your last-minute needs. If you’re crunched for time, check out the Publix Thanksgiving dinner options and order a minimum of 48 hours in advance for in-store pickup.

Publix offers same-day grocery curbside pickup and delivery in as fast as one hour via Instacart on Thanksgiving Eve. Time slots are available from 9 a.m. to close. However, time slots may be limited based on the number of orders.

Publix Black Friday Hours
Publix and their pharmacies will reopen on Black Friday with regular operating hours, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. (grocery) and 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. (pharmacy). For those that schedule their Thanksgiving meal after the holiday, Publix still offers their holiday dinner options throughout the holiday season.
Is Publix open on Christmas?
Sorry — Publix and Publix pharmacies will close for Christmas so their team members can enjoy the holiday with their family and friends. If you need holiday essentials like stocking stuffers or groceries, you can shop at one of the many stores open on Christmas.
