Is Kohl’s open? Is Kohl’s closing its stores? These may be questions you’ve asked over the last several weeks and months since the COVID-19 pandemic.
But good news — Kohl’s is still open! It may be operating differently these days, but you can still get some pretty stellar savings. Kohl’s is one of the surest places to save money when shopping for home, kitchen, and apparel. The Krazy Coupon Lady studies Kohl’s sales on a daily basis and keeps tabs on the best deals available. You’ll see many ways to save on KCL’s Kohl’s deals page as it’s updated in real time, even during the coronavirus outbreak.
Here are some of the best tips for saving at Kohl’s right now:
1. Plan to do all your Kohl’s shopping online until further notice.
2. Use Kohl’s curbside pickup to get items within two hours and skip shipping fees.
When you shop through the Kohl’s app or on Kohls.com, look for items that are available for pick up in store. You won’t be able to enter the actual store, but Kohl’s curbside pickup operates the same way. In fact, it’s even easier.
Place your order online, selecting “Drive Up” or “Free Store Pickup” when adding items to your cart. Wait for an email that says your order is ready, then drive to the store.
There are designated Drive-Up signs for you to stop at. Pull up to one and use the phone number listed in your email to let an associate know you’ve arrived. The associate will bring you your order and place it directly in your back seat or trunk. No need to leave your car!
3. Expect shipping delays and a delivery fee for orders under $75.
Kohl’s curbside pickup is where it’s at, but if that’s not an option, plan to spend at least $75 at Kohls.com to avoid shipping fees. Standard shipping (normally 3-8 days) is around $8.95 for orders under $75.
4. Not a free Kohl’s Yes2You Rewards member? You’re missing out on an extra 5% savings.
Kohl’s Yes2You Rewards is a free loyalty program where you can earn one point for every dollar you spend. Once you hit 100 points, Kohl’s will reward you with $5 to spend on a future purchase, which is basically like getting 5% back.
If you’ve already signed up in store, create an account online or just enter your Yes2You Rewards ID to link accounts. Your 11-digit Rewards ID can be found in Yes2You emails or just above the barcode on any existing rewards you may have gotten in store.
5. Use expired Yes2You Rewards and Kohl’s Cash.
If you earned Yes2You Rewards in March, you can redeem them through April 30.
And even though Kohl’s doesn’t specifically say you can used expired Kohl’s Cash, I’ve found that if you call Kohl’s customer service at 1-855-564-5705, an associate will apply it to your order. When shopping online, find the item you want, then call the number above.
6. Get $10 Kohl’s Cash for every $48 you spend.
Kohl’s Cash is like free money that can be used on a future Kohl’s purchase, and you don’t even need to sign up for anything to get it.
For every $48 you spend during a Kohl’s Cash period (Kohl’s says “for every $50 you spend,” but they actually round up from $48), you’ll receive a $10 coupon. Kohl’s will email the coupon to you using the address you used at checkout. Redeem Kohl’s Cash in store when they reopen or on Kohls.com.

7. Get Kohl’s coupons by signing up for text and email lists.
Your goal should be to get as many Kohl’s coupons as you can. In addition to finding promo codes on Kohls.com, here are a few foolproof ways to get a coupon:
- Text SAVE07 to KOHLS (56457) and you’ll get a 15% off coupon.
- Get another 15% off coupon by joining the Kohl’s email list.
Shop Kohl’s often? Get a 35% off coupon if you apply for a Kohl’s charge card.
PRO TIP: If you have any paper Kohl’s coupons, use the Kohl’s app to scan them into your account and redeem them online instead.
8. Use up to 10 Kohl’s coupons per purchase.
No joke. Kohl’s will allow up to 10 coupon codes per online order!
- Up to one sitewide percent-off coupon code (ex: 15% off an entire purchase).
- Up to four department-specific, percent-off, or dollar-off coupon codes (ex: 20% off home bedding, $10 off a $30 children’s apparel purchase).
- Up to six Kohl’s rewards codes (ex: Kohl’s Cash and Yes2You Rewards).
- Up to one free shipping code (ex: free shipping on any order).
For exmaple, use one sitewide + two department specific + Kohl’s Cash.
Or, one sitewide + six Kohl’s Cash.
9. Price match competitors’ online prices with Kohls.com.
When you shop Kohls.com, make sure to search competitors’ online prices for big brands. If you find a better price, call the Kohls.com service center at 855-564-5705 and request a price match.
You can’t get a price match on clearance items or on Buy One Get One items.
10. Small kitchen appliances and apparel are some of the best things to buy at Kohl’s.
You can frequently find small kitchen appliances for up to 60% off when you factor in Kohl’s Cash with sales and promo codes. In fact, we just spotted $8 small kitchen appliance deals at Kohl’s in April.
A few times a year you can get small appliances like a KitchenAid for up to 50% off (more if you factor in Kohl’s Cash).
Look for up to 80% savings on clearance clothing racks, including Kohl’s baby clothes like Carter’s.
Download the free Krazy Coupon Lady app and set deal alerts for the brands and products you need and we’ll notify as soon as a hot price comes along.
11. Shop with discounted gift cards on top of coupons and sale prices.
We’ve seen up to 5% off Kohl’s gift cards, which can be used to pay for your online order — even when you use promo codes, Kohl’s Cash, and other discounts.
12. Return anything except premium electronics within 180 days of purchase.
You can return anything except premium electronics within 180 days of purchase. Since you can’t go to stores to make returns at this time, returns that have exceeded the 180-day window will be accepted for 30 days after stores reopen.
If you earn Kohl’s Cash on an order and then do a partial return on that qualifying order, the Kohl’s Cash will be deducted first. So if you purchased a $139 coffeemaker and earned $20 in Kohl’s Cash, which you spent on other merchandise, and decide to return the coffeemaker, you’ll only be refunded $119.
Amazon returns at Kohl’s are also on hold at this time. You’ll need to go through Amazon’s return center.
