Find out how to get Sam’s Club groceries delivered to your door so you can spend less time in the warehouse.
Here’s a quick and dirty rundown about the Sam’s Club delivery:
How does Sam’s Club delivery work?
For groceries? Instacart, that’s how.
If you know anything about how Instacart works, you’re aware of all the fees they charge. Markups on individual items, delivery fees, tips, “service” fees. Get more in-depth information about Instacart to learn all about these markups and fees.
To place a delivery order, go to Instacart’s Sam’s Club page and enter your Sam’s Club membership number. This will give you access to lower prices and allow you to pay with your Sam’s Club Mastercard.
TIP: Shipping is different from delivery. If you want something shipped from Sam’s Club, Plus members get free shipping on everything and Club members get free shipping on a few items (items will say “Free Shipping”).
Can I order from Sam’s Club without a membership?
Yes, absolutely. Anyone can order groceries from Sam’s Club through Instacart. If you’re a non-member, plan to pay a little more than a member would.
TIP: Non-members can also place orders at SamsClub.com, but expect to pay for shipping.
What are the Sam’s Club delivery fees?
Your grocery delivery fee depends on how much you spend. First, you must meet the $10 order minimum to qualify for Instacart delivery through Sam’s Club. Here are all the various delivery fees:
- $8.99 on orders $35 or more
- $12.99 on orders under $35
- $10.99 for one hour delivery on orders $35 or more
- $14.99 for one hour delivery on orders under $35
Pay for Instacart Express and get free delivery if you’re a frequent flyer.
Instacart Express costs an extra $8 – $10 per month, depending on whether you pay monthly or annually. But, free unlimited delivery is the reward and if you place more than two Sam’s Club orders per month, I recommend it.
That said, there’s no free Instacart heaven. Because even if you’re an Instacart Express and a Club or Plus member, the cost of an order through Instacart is still more than it would be if you went into the warehouse and bought your groceries. I shopped at Sam’s Club in person and then placed an order as an Instacart Express (and Plus!) member to compare. Here’s the lowdown:
Member’s Mark Rotisserie Chicken Enchiladas, one pound
- Price compare online: $3.68 a pound
- Price compare in store: $3.12 a pound
Kraft Deluxe Original Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese Dinner 8-14 ounce boxes
- Price compare online: $17.56
- Price compare in store: $14.88
Smucker’s Uncrustables Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly sandwiches, 18 count
- Price compare online: $13.90
- Price compare in store: $10.48
Driscoll’s Blueberries, 18 ounces
- Price compare online: $7.06

- Delivery tip: $2.11 (5% of cart total)
Instacart total: $45.31
In-store total: $33.92
The Instacart order cost me an extra $11.39. So the question is whether spending an extra twelve bucks is worth it to skip traffic and walking through a busy store. Some days it might be a yes and other days a no.
Can I use coupons for my order?
No, unfortunately Sam’s Club doesn’t accept coupons at all. Not even when you’re shopping in the store.
Can I apply Instant Savings deals to my Instacart order?
No, Instacart can’t accept or process Instant Savings offers.
