If you liked getting freebies with the Starbucks for Life game, there’s more where that came from. Every summer, the Mermaid rolls out the Starbucks Summer Game — an annual tradition that gives customers gift cards, Stars (rewards points), and more. It’s a tradition that can have you saving on your future Starbucks order. (And the more you play, the better.)
This year, Starbucks released their game earlier than they have in the past. You’ll be able to play the Starbucks Summer Game from May 15 to June 18, and we have all the details on how to get freebies and extra plays on your account.
With the changes in the Starbucks Rewards program, we’ll take any freebie we can get to get closer to free Starbucks. Here’s how you can take advantage of the Starbucks Summer Game and get closer to free coffee:
Play the Starbucks Summer Game May 15 – June 18 via the Starbucks app & website.
The Starbucks Summer Game: Adventure Awaits can be played from May 15 to June 18, 2023, and you’ll be able to play the game through the Starbucks app or the summer game website. This year, you’ll be collecting “snapshots”, and each snapshot will get you a randomly selected prize or a submission in to their sweepstakes.
All you need to do is click the graphic to get your play for the day. You can earn more snapshots by purchasing a drink through your Starbucks Rewards account with a maximum of two snapshots a day.
You get one play per day; get extra plays by completing various activities.
After you play your free game, you’ll be able to earn more submissions or boosters for the Skill Game by completing a few challenges through the app. Each player will get the same number of tasks and they do not reset. These are the ones that can get you additional snapshots:
- Reload your account with at least $10
- Order on the app three times
- Order on the app six times
- Play the Skill Game five times
- Redeem at least 25 Stars
With the completion of these bonus activities, you’ll also earn submissions to the sweepstakes that get you grand prizes.
NOTE: Some accounts may have the task “order on the app six times” and others might have “play the Skill Game five times”.
Answer some survey questions to get a free extra play for the Starbucks Summer Game.
If you aren’t able to make a purchase at Starbucks, there is still a way for you to get an extra play without making a purchase. Just head to the bottom of the Starbucks Summer Game website and fill out the survey where it says “To enter without making a purchase, click here.”
You’ll need to watch a 30-second video and answer questions about how you show kindness to others.

There are lots of prizes up for grabs, including a Grand Prize trip to the ‘most unique Starbucks locations in the world’.
Ten lucky sweepstakes winners of this year’s game will get a five-day all-expenses paid vacation for two to an exotic Starbucks location. This vacation has an estimated retail value of $15,893. The other two sweepstakes prizes include $250 Starbucks gift cards (50 winners) and 1,000 Stars added to your account (2,850 winners).

The Skill Game won’t get you any Starbucks freebies unless the Summer Game asks you to play.
The Starbucks Skills Game this year is similar to games they’ve had in the past. Just click on the different images and try to get rid of the colors and shapes that it asks for. You won’t get any freebies by completing the game unless you have a task that asks you to play the game.
You can get boosters for the game and unlock special levels if you complete the bonus tasks.
