Halloween food deals are everywhere in October, and one of the best you can find this spooky season are the McDonald’s Halloween Treat Packs. Just like the Wendy’s Book Books, this $1-$3 coupon book can save you on McDonald’s treats, hamburgers, and more.

These coupons have been selling at select locations for years (we’ve seen reports of people picking them up as long as 14 years ago!), but not every location has them or will participate in the deal.

So, while we wait for the McDonald’s Halloween Buckets to drop on Oct. 17, check your local McDonald’s to see if they are selling these coupon books. We’ll let you know what you can expect from this Halloween Treats Pack — including how many freebies you’ll get, when they expire, and every restriction for these coupons.

The McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack costs $1 to $3 and will get you more than $14 in freebies.

The McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack is an extremely rare deal that is only available at participating McDonald’s. Depending on the McDonald’s location, you’ll be able to pick up your Halloween Treats Pack for as little as $1 to $3 — making this one of the best non-candy Halloween treats you can pick up.

Each Halloween Treats Pack will come with 12 coupons that will get you a dozen freebies (worth up to $14.58 in my area). They’ll consist of four different coupons, and you’ll get three of each coupon. Here’s what the coupons will get you, based on my store’s prices:

  • 3 Free Small Vanilla Cones (reg. $1.79 each)
  • 3 Free Apple Juice or Milk Jugs (reg. $0.99 each)
  • 3 Free Hamburgers (reg. $1.49)
  • 3 Free bags of Apple Slices (reg. $0.59)

Note: Prices vary between McDonald’s locations/geographic areas, so make sure to check your McDonald’s Rewards app for the most accurate prices near you.

Only kids 12 and under can redeem the coupons from the Treats Pack.

You’ll only be able to use the coupons in the book from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31.

Wendy’s Boo Book vs. McDonald’s Halloween Treats Pack: Who Wins?

Honestly, it’s a toss-up. Both the Wendy’s Boo Books and the McDonald’s Halloween Treat Packs have cheap price tags for a booklet full of discounts on food and sweets. If you’re only spending $1 on your Treat Packs, you’re slightly getting a better deal than the Boo Books. But if you spend $2 or $3 for the coupon books, Wendy’s has the edge.

Here’s the breakdown:

Wendy’s Boo Books

  • 5 free Jr. Frosties (reg. $2.19 each, a $10.95 discount)
  • $1.99 Kids Meal (reg. $5.19, a $3.20 discount)
  • You spend $1 for $14.15 in value.

McDonald’s Halloween Treat Packs

  • 3 free Small Vanilla Cones (reg. $1.79 each)
  • 3 free Apple Juice or Milk Jugs (reg. $0.99 each)
  • 3 free Hamburgers (reg. $1.49)
  • 3 free bags of Apple Slices (reg. $0.59)
  • You spend $1-$3 for around $14.58 in value — which ends up being between $4.86 and $14.58 in value per $1 spent.

Always use the McDonald’s app to never pay full price and earn freebies.

Here are a few of the coupons you can grab from the McDonald’s Rewards app:

  • BOGO free Breakfast Sandwiches
  • Free Medium Fries (reg. $3.29) with a minimum purchase of $1
  • $2.50 10-Piece Chicken McNuggets (reg. $5.19) — a 51.8% discount
