There's a specific kind of panic I know well. Someone's birthday is today. A friend's housewarming is this weekend. I've procrastinated yet again, and my flight home for the holidays is tomorrow.
What I've learned is that I've been sitting on great gifts all this time. They're all in my camera roll. And I don't need weeks of lead time to turn one. With CVS Photo, a lot of it can be printed, framed, bound, or put on a tumbler and waiting at the store as soon as today, as long as I order by 7 p.m.
Not only has CVS Photo become my quiet gifting shortcut, but it also costs a lot less than whatever I'd have panic-bought instead. Because there are always deals and coupons available.

CVS Photo Deals You Can Get Now

Need some inspo? Here are my 6 go-to photo gifts.
These six are the ones I keep coming back to, and every one of them can be ready for same-day pickup at most stores.
Photo prints: Chances are that family vacation is just as buried in your loved one's camera roll as it is in yours, so a handful of 4x6s tucked into a card makes a nice surprise. We've seen these as low as $0.15 each with promo codes.
Repositionable posters: They start at $12.99, print on water-resistant vinyl with a non-glare finish, and have an adhesive that comes off without damaging walls. This is the gift for anyone in a rental or a dorm.
Layflat photo books: What I make when I want the gift to commemorate a major occasion, like a vacation or a wedding. The layflat binding means a two-page spread lies flat, so it reads as one image rather than two halves.
Photo cards: If you want to send someone a card that feels more thoughtful than one from the greeting cards aisle, this is your gift. It works whether it's a thank-you, a save-the-date, or birthday card. Folded styles start at $3.99.
Tumblers: You can get a 22-oz. one for $29.99, but the price can get cut in half if there's a promo code running. This is my go-to for my dad, who is genuinely hard to shop for: Put a photo of the dog on it, and it goes with him everywhere.
Photo magnets: These work for people who don't have room for a large framed photo. Almost everyone has room on the fridge. They also make a good add-on when a gift feels slightly thin on its own.
Tips for Saving More on CVS Photo
There's almost always a code running. Check every two weeks.
CVS keeps offers live continuously. The discounts range from free 5x7s to half off custom gifts. You can find whatever's current at the top of this page.
Typically each offer works once per CVS Photo account.
Shop around the holidays for the strongest offers.
The deepest photo discounts cluster around gifting holidays. Easter, Mother's Day, and Christmas reliably bring free-print codes. If you're making gifts for a holiday, start watching the codes two or three weeks out.
Use free same-day pickup.
There's not much point saving 40% and then handing it back in shipping fees. CVS lets you make most of these gifts and pick them up for free, often the same day. Orders placed by 7 p.m. local time qualify for same-day pickup on select products.
Look for the same-day labeling as you're building your order, and check it against your specific store. Availability varies by location and by size, so a poster that's same-day at one store may not be at another. A few products (tabletop panels, puzzles, and wood wall panels) aren't available for same-day pickup or ship-to-store at all.
Use CVS to skip the school photo package prices.
School photo pricing for prints is genuinely hard to justify. If your school sells a digital file at a reasonable rate, buy that one file and print what you actually need. Without any coupon at all, CVS does four wallet prints for $0.99.
Keep your photos in your CVS account.
Once you upload photos, they stay put until you delete them. CVS offers unlimited storage as long as you're an Active Member, which means signing in at least once every 180 days and making one purchase a year. Guaranteed, one of your loved ones is going to see the calendar you made and want one, too.
