S’more campfire season is upon us and my daughters will go wild for these new color changing marshmallows. On the heels of the Kellogg’s and ICEE mouth-cooling cereal, Jet-Puffed Color Changer marshmallows have arrived — and you can bet I’ll be using them with my new Target S’mores deluxe caddy box. As you might assume from the name, they change color when you toast them. And we spotted them on Friday, May 5 at Target for $2.99 and $2.48 at Walmart!
Spend your days doing dollar store summer activities at home or finding free things to do while the kids are off from school. Then when the sun goes down, make use of your fire pit and get cozy. Surprise your kids with these color-changing marshmallows. Here’s everything we know about these puffy sugar bombs so far.

The marshmallows change color when heated.
The secret ingredient in these marshmallows causes them to change color when heated. Whether you toast them on the campfire, use a torch, oven, microwave (or even a hair dryer!), they’ll change color in about 10 seconds.

You’ll get two color-changing hues in the bag that costs $2.48 at Walmart.
Each bag will have blue and pink marshmallows. . . at first. When you expose them to heat, the blue marshmallows turn green, and the pink turn orange. I plan on making it a game, having my kids guess which color they’ll turn once we stick them over the fire. Whoever wins gets the first s’more. Actually, my girls are toddlers so they’ll both win and get s’mores at the same time. But for those of you with older kids who (maybe?) fight less, I hope you try this idea.

We spotted them for $2.99 at Target. (Over $1 more than regular marshmallows.)
As expected, these novelty marshmallows come with a heftier price tag than their regular ol’ colorless counterparts. While a 12-ounce bag of Jet-Puffed marshmallows usually runs $1.78 at Walmart, these are being stocked on Target shelves at the $2.99 price tag as we speak. To snag a deal, shop Target with your RedCard for 5% off and pay $2.84, or wait until summer sales on s’more ingredients (we know they’ll happen!). But to be honest, the extra $1 is worth it to me to keep my kids engrossed with something for a few extra minutes this summer.
