Why is there a Capri Sun recall?
Kraft Heinz initiated a voluntary recall of their Capri Sun juice pouches after the company received complaints about the drink’s strange taste.
After an internal investigation, Kraft Heinz discovered that a diluted cleaning solution — commonly used on food processing equipment — was mistakenly mixed into the Capri Sun production line.
Although no illnesses have been reported from consuming the contaminated drinks, 5,760 cases of Capri Sun were recalled (which means nearly a quarter-million pouches).
Which products are affected by the recall?
Not every Capri Sun variety is part of the recall. Only the Wild Cherry flavor has been recalled.
But if you have some Wild Cherry Capri Sun on hand, check your package for a Best By date of June 15, 2023 and a UPC of 0-8768400100-4.
You can find the “Best By” date on the bottom or side of the case.
What should you do if you have the recalled Capri Sun product?
If you have recalled Capri Suns, don’t drink them. You could just throw them away, but why would you do that when you can get your money back? Bring the Wild Cherry Capri Suns to the store where you bought them to get a full refund.
