If you’re owed money in a class action settlement, we want you to be the first to know. Unlike product recalls — which just give customers refunds for products that are pulled from the shelves — these settlements are the result of lawsuits where customers band together to sue a company for an alleged mistake.
Chances are, you’re part of some groups that’ll get settlement money. Keep this page bookmarked to find out everything you need to know about these class action settlements.
What is a class-action lawsuit and why is a particular company involved in one? Do you qualify for a payout? How do you claim your settlement money? How much money will you get and when?

$2.5 Billion Amazon Prime FTC Settlement
Amazon recently agreed to a $2.5 billion FTC settlement that claimed Amazon used sneaky sign-up practices to rope people into Prime — and made canceling a total headache. While $1 billion of the settlement is going to the government, $1.5 billion is going to consumers. So what’s that mean for you? We don’t have all the specifics, like how to file a claim and the claim deadline, but here’s what we know so far.
Who qualifies? A couple of groups qualify for this settlement. U.S. customers who signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019 - June 23, 2025, through certain ways (for example, via checkout pages, prompts during shipping options, or Prime Video enrollment) that allegedly used confusing or misleading paths. Plus, customers who attempted to cancel their Prime membership but couldn’t complete it (for example, got stuck in the cancellation process or gave up) can submit a claim.
How much? Up to $51.
Proof needed? If you used three or fewer Prime benefits (in a 12-month period) you may receive an automatic payment within the next 90 days. Other eligible consumers will get a notification from Amazon. Note that we currently don’t have a link to the claim site or form. When more information becomes available, we’ll update this post.
UPDATE: Amazon is sending emails from Nov. 15 - Dec. 24 to Prime members who are eligible for automatic payments via PayPal or Venmo. You must accept your refund within 15 days. If you prefer a paper check, you can ignore the email. Amazon will mail you a check to the address listed for your Prime account. If you're eligible to file a claim but not receive automatic payments, you'll be notified between Dec. 24, 2025 - Jan. 23., 2026.
