The Southwest Airlines Wanna Get Away Sale is a multi-day event that occurs several times throughout the year. It offers one-way fares starting at just $49. Plus, Southwest features additional deals and offers to help customers save on various other travel expenses, from flights to rental cars.
The Southwest Wanna Get Away Sale begins Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024.
The current Southwest Airlines Wanna Get Away Sale will happen between Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 19, 2024. During this sale, you can book flights for as low as $49 (one-way).
Book your Southwest Wanna Get Away flights by 11:59 p.m. PT on the last day of the sale.
This Southwest Wanna Get Away Sale will last nine days, running until 11:59 PT on Sept. 19, 2024. And since you have to book your flight 21 days in advance, it won't have super-last-minute deals.
Tickets are nonrefundable and don’t include government fees, which start at $5.60 per one-way flight.

Southwest’s Wanna Get Away Sale has flights starting at $49. However, the number of flights is limited, so if you don’t have any specific travel plans, you can go with one of the many options in their Route List.
The cheapest fares during the Wanna Get Away Sale will be on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Use their flight deals page if you’re not sure where you want to go, or use the Low Fare Calendar to browse dates.

Blackout dates include Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Unfortunately, there are dates that are totally blacked out for the Wanna Get Away Sale. Probably for good reason, since the blackout dates are always around Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are some of the busiest times to travel.

Need to cancel your discount flight from the Wanna Get Away Sale? No refunds — but you can get a credit.
According to the fine print, if you want to cancel a flight you book through the Southwest Wanna Get Away Sale, you can’t get a refund. But you’re not totally out of luck, since you can still apply the canceled flight as a credit toward a future fare, as long as you cancel at least 10 minutes before your flight.
