If you’re a Macy’s shopper, you know the Macy’s One Day Sale is legit (and typically longer than just one day). The sale happens in stores and online, making it easy to save big whether you have Macy's coupons or not. The January One Day Sale runs Jan. 9 - 11.

Macy’s One Day Sale is an almost-monthly event with rotating discounts in-store and online.
The Macy’s One Day Sale happens almost every month; April, June, and October have been exceptions in the past, but there was one in June 2025 (June 26 - 29). Usually, if Macy’s is having another big event — the Macy’s Friends & Family sale, for example — there won’t be a One Day Sale that month.

As usual, Macy's is kicking the sale off on Friday and running it through the weekend. Here are the 2025 dates of the One Day Sale:

Aim for at least 40% - 60% off during the sale (discounts could go up to 80% on some items).
You should be able to save 40% - 60% during the Macy's One Day Sale, based on deals we've seen in the past. However, you might spot some even better deals on certain items; we've seen select discounts go as high as 80% off during this sale.

During the One Day Sale, you can usually get 1,000 bonus points, which equals $10 in Star Money, for every qualifying $100 spent. To get it, you need to be a member of the Macy's Star Rewards program, which you can join for free. Those bonus points come in addition to the points you get per dollar spent. You get 1 point per dollar at the first level, Bronze. The other higher levels require you to get a Macy's credit card.
Macy's Star Rewards, the retailer's loyalty program, gives members points on Macy's purchases that eventually accumulate to Macy's Star Money (1,000 points = $10 Star Money Reward).
