Many parents who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s were sad when Toys R Us closed their doors in 2018. For many of us as kids, a trip down those aisles filled with toys was a rite of passage and a fun reward after a long day of non-fun things. Those same now-parents can still enjoy the tradition — albeit on a much smaller scale — with their kids at Toys R Us in Macy’s stores nationwide. Plus, back in March, parents could sign their kids up for the 3-day Toys R Us Easter event that ran from March 30 through April 1, 2023.

When will the Toys R Us Easter Event happen in 2024?
If this event returns in 2024, we expect that it will likely take place earlier. Easter falls on March 31, 2024, so we predict this event will likely happen closer to the end of March. Keep an eye out for registration the week of March 18, with the event possibly beginning on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Each day of the Toys R Us Easter Event had a theme: Play-Doh, LEGO, and Pokémon.
This 3-day adventure began with Play-Doh and ended with Pokemon Day, where kiddos received Pokemon Trade & Play activity packs for in-store fun. To find a participating location near you, parents could visit the Toys R Us Events page.
Kids could also participate in an in-store scavenger hunt through April 9, 2023.
If you couldn’t fit the 3-day event into your schedule, there was another event to join. Macy’s and Toys R Us hosted a scavenger hunt that kids could participate in from March 30 to April 9, 2023. This in-store experience led kids to find some of Geoffery’s favorite toys. Once they found them all, they won a prize! Prize quantities were limited, and the event was only happening while supplies lasted.
