I freaking love T.J.Maxx (check out these T.J.Maxx hacks if you don’t believe me). So when I found out that they reopened their site after shutting down in March due to COVID-19, I hopped online to check it out myself. If you love discounted name brands and the sense of deep satisfaction you get after uncovering a killer deal at T.J.Maxx, you’re gonna want to read on.

T.J.Maxx online ordering is back on, but they’ll only accept a certain number of orders per day.

The well-being of customers and employees — in stores and in distribution centers — is a first priority for this discount retailer. So, for safety reasons, T.J.Maxx has set a daily cap for online orders. There is no official number for the orders they’ll accept, but we’ve been told that distribution centers make the call, taking into consideration the number of orders they receive and the quality shipping service they can safely offer.

Once the daily cap has been reached, online ordering will shut down for the day. This means you’ll have to shop early in the AM if you want to make a purchase online. At 7:30 a.m. MT this morning, TJMaxx.com was still accepting orders, so hop online as early as you can if you’re serious about buying.

Some physical T.J.Maxx stores will open, but with temporary store hours.

On May 9, T.J.Maxx’s CEO announced that some physical locations would reopen in the coming months, but with limited hours and extra safety measures in place. Temporary T.J.Maxx hours will be Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Some of the new safety guidelines for stores reopening include:

  • T.J.Maxx senior hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. for shoppers over 60 and those at risk
  • Protective shields at cash registers
  • Mandatory masks and face coverings for all associates and shoppers
  • Closed dressing rooms
  • Social distancing in lines and shopping aisles

See if your local T.J.Maxx location will reopen soon.

Join the T.J.Maxx email list for free shipping codes.

Expect to pay $9 for standard ground shipping on orders under $75 at TJMaxx.com. But, as an avid T.J.Maxx shopper myself, I’ve found that they’ll send me free shipping promo codes because I joined their free email list.

These come in handy when I find a great deal in their online clearance section here!
