Nothing says “I love you” like Valentine’s Day Squishmallows. If you’re looking to give your loved one something more than just chocolate, a Squishmallow just in time for Valentine’s Day would be my vote — and in 2023, we saw prices start at $9.99.

Rare Squishmallows come out for all the holidays — like Halloween Squishmallows and Christmas Squishmallows — so it only makes sense that V-day Squishmallows hit the shelves come January and February. When looking for Squishmallows around major holidays, you’ll start seeing them a month (or sometimes even two months) in advance. The Valentine Squad could be found at many retailers. More than a dozen stores carry Valentine’s Day Squishmallows.

Your best bet at finding Valentine’s Day Squishmallows in stock is at Walgreens, Walmart, and Target. Check online first and select store pickup, if inventory allows. If you’re browsing in store, look in both the Valentine’s Day and toy sections; we’ve seen seasonal Squishmallows in both places.

Five Below released 12 4.5-inch Valentine’s Day edition Squishmallows with their Jan. 29, 2023 drop.

If you’re shopping online, there are a bunch of Valentine’s Day Squishmallows on Amazon and Walmart. But be careful about purchasing from third-party sellers who usually try to jack up the prices on these limited-time releases (since they’re hard to get your hands on). I recommend avoiding third-party sellers and making sure the Squishmallows product listing says, “Sold and shipped by Amazon/Walmart.”

Target also has third-party sellers you may want to avoid, too, as the prices may be high. You’ll see them listed as “Sold and shipped by a Target Plus partner.”

If you’re really in desperate need of certain holiday Squishmallows, you can try eBay or Mercari. But be prepared to pay well over retail prices.

In early January we saw the 2023 Valentine’s Day Squishmallows pop up in stores like Target and Albertsons and online at retailers like Claire’s and Walgreens.

Through Feb. 14, you could save up to 50% on select Squishmallows at Kroger — including Valentine’s Day Squishmallows. Shoppers could use the Shopper’s card to not only pay the lowest advertised sale prices but to also receive any advertised instant savings promotions and earn fuel points on all purchases. No coupons needed.

The Jan. 29, 2023 Five Below Squishmallow release dropped 12 new 4.5-inch Valentine’s Day Squishmallows. Those Squishmallows were available online, and shoppers could get lucky finding them in store.

Certain Valentine’s Day Squishmallows come back year after year, like the Valentine-themed Axolotl Archie, the mushroom Malcolm, and the cow Caedyn. We even spotted Disney Squishmallows themed for Valentine’s Day at Target.

All Valentine Squad Squishmallows feature a special bio tag that you won’t find on regular Squishmallows.

TIP: What’s a bio tag? It has the Squishmallow’s name, “Squishdate,” their story, personality, what they like to do for fun, and more. The Valentine’s Day-themed bio tag features a red tag with hearts.

Valentine’s Day Squishmallows come in 3.5-inch clips, plushes from five inches all the way up to 24 inches, and 14-inch Hug Mees. (Hug Mees are Squishmallows that stand upright.) In addition, there were new 5-inch Valentine pairs for $10.99 — making each Squishmallow in the pair just $5.50.

There were also candy-themed Squishmallows and Disney-collab Squishmallows in various sizes.
