Everyone loves Texas Sheet Cake. But have you ever tried White Texas Sheet Cake? It’s amazingly moist and delicious!

White Texas Sheet Cake

1 cup water
1 cup butter – $1.00
2 cups flour – $0.39
2 cups sugar – $0.60
2 eggs – $0.44
1/2 cup sour cream – $0.37
1 tsp almond extract – $0.12
1/2 tsp salt – $0.01
1 tsp baking soda – $0.01

Frosting

1/2 cup butter – $0.50
1/4 milk – $0.05
4 1/2 cup powdered sugar – $0.95
1/2 tsp almond extract – $0.06

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. In a large saucepan, boil water and butter together. Remove from heat and stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt and baking soda by hand or in a mixer. Pour into a greased sheet pan.

3. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until top is light brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

4. Boil butter and milk together in saucepan. Remove from heat and mix in powdered sugar and extract. Spread over warm cake immediately. Cool before serving. This cake is even better after sitting overnight. You can also top it with walnuts, pecans or sliced almonds.
