These adorable Rudolph cookies are simple to make and sure to be a hit with the kids this Christmas!
1 (12 oz) bag Wilton light cocoa candy melts
1 Tbsp vegetable shortening
24 Nutter Butter cookies
24 popsicle sticks
24 red peanut butter M&M’s
24 thin pretzel twists, broken or cut into antler shape
24 candy eyes, found in baking section
1. Combine candy melts and shortening in a 2-cup glass measuring cup. Microwave, stirring often, until smooth, about 60 to 90 seconds.
2. Line 2 cookies sheets with wax paper. Separate cookie halves. Dip one end of a popsicle stick into melted chocolate and place toward one end of an opened cookie. Top with another cookie half and arrange on sheet. Repeat with remaining cookies and refrigerate until set, about 5 minutes.
3. Reheat melted chocolate if necessary. Dip a chilled cookie into chocolate to coat. Allow excess chocolate to drain off, tapping lightly. Return cookie to sheet.
4. Add antlers, nose and eyes to cookie. Repeat steps with remaining cookies and refrigerate until set, about 10 minutes.
