Disney Movie Insiders is a freaking fantastic, well-kept secret for getting free Disney movies and other Disney freebies.
What is Disney Movie Insiders? It’s Disney’s free movie loyalty program, where you earn points by streaming premium movies on Disney+, buying Blu-rays and DVDs, and even watching movies at the theater. Those points turn into Disney Movie Insiders Rewards (freebies!).
We’ll tell you all about how many points you’ll earn for your movie watching, how much you have to spend to get those points, and what those points will get you.
(It’s totally free to sign up.)
The most you can earn at one time is 300 points for premium streaming on Disney+.
Although you can’t earn points from being a regular ol’ Disney+ subscriber, when you purchase a brand-new movie through Disney+ Premier Access, you’ll earn 300 points when you take a screenshot of your completed order and submit it
Check out the “At Home” section of the Disney Movie Insiders site to see which movies are eligible for points. Movies like “Black Widow,” “Mulan,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and “Cruella” have been included.
These movies typically cost $29.99 on top of a Disney+ subscription, so you’re spending $0.10 per point.
Earn 100 points for every Disney movie ticket you submit — up to 500 points per month.
Whenever you see a Disney movie in theaters, you can earn 50-100 points when you take a picture of your ticket stub and submit it within 14 days to Disney Movie Insiders via the website or mobile app. If you’re seeing a movie with a group, you can submit their stubs, too, to earn up to 500 points per month.
Disney has offered DOUBLE POINTS for seeing qualifying movies on opening weekend, like “Black Widow” from July 9-11, 2021.
Get 200 points for buying a movie on digital; it’s the best value for earning points.
If you’re buying Disney movies from places like Prime Video, Google Play, and FandangoNOW, you’ll want to create a free Movies Anywhere account and link it to your Disney Movie Insiders account; you’ll automatically earn 200-250 points every time you buy select movies on digital.
These movies will typically run you around $4 for older films and up to $25 for new films, so you’ll earn up to 50 points per $1 spent — that’s the best value by far.
Earn 100 points for Disney Blu-rays and 50 points for DVDs.
You’ll find Disney Movie Insiders codes inside every Disney DVD or Blu-ray case — which will give you 50-100 points.
If you sign up for the Disney Movie Club, you can earn 500 points when you link your accounts and can earn points from the DVDs you purchase! You need to purchase a minimum of 9 movies ($1 for the first four; $19.95 for the next five), but each movie will net you 100 points as well, adding up to 1,400 points! That’s 13.5 points for every dollar spent.
If your code is missing in the case, be sure to contact the Disney Movie Insiders team with photo evidence of your purchase, and they will be glad to assist you. (Check out this FAQ article and click “chat” to get live support.)
Aim to earn at least 10 points per $1 spent — and keep an eye out for free points offers.
You want to earn the most points possible per dollar spent, so the Disney Movie Club and buying cheap Disney movies on digital are your best bet. Disney Blu-rays (at retail price) are the worst.
But what’s even better? Earning points without spending anything. Every week, the Disney Movie Insiders team will post a code via Twitter or Instagram that will add about 10 points to your account, so follow their social media and keep a look out for those codes!
Keep tabs on the DMI page for special points offers. During the release of “Black Widow,” members could earn a whopping 750 points for spending $60 or more at ShopDisney.com (with promo code WIDOW).
Keep track of your point balance via the Disney Movie Insiders app and website.
Sign in to your Disney Movie Insiders account to see your current point balance. Your points will expire 365 days after you earned them, so make sure to use them before time runs out.

The best way to ‘roll’ rewards is to spend points on free movie tickets.
A $10 gift certificate from Atom Rewards only costs 1,100 points in the DMI store, which is the best points-per-$1 value (11 points/$1). Best of all, it will help you buy your next movie theater ticket, which will then earn you 100 points.
