It’s official — the Starbucks holiday drinks will return today, Nov. 2, alongside their signature red holiday cups. It’s the first Thursday of November, and historically, the Starbucks holiday menu makes a return within the first week of November.

Starbucks has officially confirmed that several fan favorites are returning to menus. Here’s everything that is coming to menus starting Nov, 2, 2023 (with prices in a hot grande size):

  • Peppermint Mocha (reg. $5.95)
  • Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte (reg. $6.25)
  • Caramel Brulee Latte (reg. $5.95)
  • Chestnut Praline Latte (reg. $5.95)

Note: If you aren’t ready to let go of the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes after the holiday drink menu release, many Starbucks locations will sell their fall menu deep into November. Some locations serve it as late as January.

There are two new Starbucks holiday menu items: the Starbucks Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai & Peppermint Brownie Cake Pop.

This year, Starbucks is releasing two new items on the Starbucks Holiday Menu: The Starbucks Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai ($6.25 for a grande) and the Peppermint Brownie Cake Pop (regularly $3.25). The new drink will be available in both hot and iced versions, and the cake pop is will be replacing the Reindeer Cake Pop of 2022.

These new drinks and desserts will stay on the menu for as long as the Starbucks Holiday Menu is live or until supplies run out at your Starbucks location.

Note: Starbucks locations that are selling the Oleato drinks will have a special Oleato Gingerbread Oatmilk Latte (regularly $5.95).

Starbucks Red Cup Day is rumored to be on Nov. 16 — a free reusable cup with Starbucks holiday drink purchase.

We’re always on the lookout for good Starbucks deals on reusable cups, and what’s a better deal than free?

Last year, Starbucks Red Cup Day took place on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022 starting at 7 a.m. While supplies lasted, if you ordered a holiday drink, you got a reusable holiday-themed cup for free. This year, we’ve heard rumors that Red Cup Day will return on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023.

Here are the holiday drinks that can (typically) get you your Starbucks Red Cup:

  • Chestnut Praline Latte
  • Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Peppermint Hot Chocolate
  • Peppermint Mocha
  • Peppermint White Hot Chocolate
  • Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte
  • Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte
  • Toasted White Hot Chocolate
  • Toasted White
  • Chocolate Mocha
  • White Hot Chocolate

Starbucks locations inside Target, Albertsons, and other chain stores participated as well — so there were plenty of spots to try if you’re worried about a massive line on the big day.

Here’s when Starbucks Red Cup Day has happened in the past:

  • Nov. 17, 2022
  • Nov. 18, 2021
  • Nov. 6, 2020
  • Nov. 7, 2019

The Starbucks Holiday Menu will include baked goods.

Three starbucks cups with the cranberry bliss bar and a sugar plum danish

The Starbucks holiday drinks aren’t the only festive additions to the menu. We expect to see these holiday bakery items in 2023:

  • Snowman Cookie (reg. $2.95)
  • Gingerbread Loaf (reg. $4.25)
  • Sugar Plum Cheese Danish (reg. $3.95)
  • Cranberry Bliss Bar (reg. $3.65)

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha is the most popular Starbucks holiday beverage — even though you can get it all year.

starbuck holiday drinks and menu items

While Starbucks has gotten fancier with each new holiday beverage addition, year after year the most popular item on the seasonal menu is the Peppermint Mocha.

The “base model” is pretty simple: Espresso Roast, steamed milk, mocha sauce, and peppermint syrup, with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls on top. But from there, there are lots of variations. Here are a few:

  • Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino ($6.45): Add in three pumps of Peppermint Syrup ($0.80) to a Mocha Frappuccino ($5.65 for a grande)
  • Skinny Peppermint Mocha ($5.55): Order a Caffe Americano ($3.95 for a grande) with a splash of Heavy Cream, 1 pump of Mocha Sauce ($0.80), 1 pump of Peppermint Syrup, and 2 pumps of Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup ($0.80)

Share a Venti Starbucks Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai and save $1.

A Venti latte ($6.25) is 20 ounces and a Tall latte ($5.65) is 12 ounces. If you buy a venti and ask the barista to split it between two tall cups, making two 10-ounce lattes, you’ll save around $1 for nearly the same size. Your cost-per-ounce goes from $0.47 down to $0.31. And that’s just the beginning of our ways to save at Starbucks.

Starbucks holiday drinks tend to disappear mid-January.

Person drinking starbucks while holding their phone, next to them is a drink carrier of more starbucks drinks

Like the fall drinks menu, Starbucks doesn’t have an official cutoff date for serving holiday drinks. Instead, they serve them until supplies run out — which, for the winter seasonal menu, tends to be around the second week of January. Stock in store varies, though, so keep ordering your peppermint mocha until they tell you no. (And even if they do tell you no, try another location.)

But once it’s gone, it’s gone. And then you can start focusing your attention on the Starbucks summer drinks menu.

Save around 86% by making your Starbucks holiday drinks at home.

The Starbucks Holiday grocery line has officially started appearing on store shelfs on Oct. 24, and you can save up to $2.90 per cup of coffee when you make your coffee at home when compared to buying a cup at Starbucks. Here’s how the math breaks down:

  • An 11 oz bag of Peppermint Mocha Coffee grounds from Target costs $9.99.
  • If we assume a cup of coffee uses .5 oz of grounds, a bag of grounds will make 22 cups of coffee.
  • Each coffee made at home with the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Coffee grounds will cost $0.45 each.
  • A short (8 oz) peppermint coffee from Starbucks will cost $3.35.
  • You’ll save $2.90 or 86.6% by making your coffee at home.

Here is the rest of the Starbucks holiday grocery line you can find at your local retailers:
