The Starbucks winter menu drops every year in early January, and then we always see a second drop — Starbucks Winter 2.0, if you will — in early February. This year new items arrived on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, with the follow-up drop on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025. Their Winter 2.0 lineup has three new drinks and two returning faves, along with the still-available pistachio drinks and the new (and cheaper) Matcha recipe.

Some good news—the two returning Valentine's Day drinks are the same price this year as last year, so no price hikes this month. Starbucks prices did increase the prices on four of the January-release winter menu items since last year. And since prices aren't dropping anytime soon, I've got a couple Starbucks hacks to help you order the Starbucks winter menu for less.

Here are all the details on the new menu drops, what the new items cost, and how to save on Starbucks this month.

Starbucks introduced 5 new drinks (including Valentine's Day sips) on Feb. 4, 2025.

NEW Starbucks Winter Menu Items

The Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Crème Frappuccino and the Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew return for another year as the Starbucks Valentine's Day drinks. And some good news: prices are the same as last year. So while they're still wildly expensive, it seems that Starbucks has reached a sort of price plateau (for now).

  • Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Crème Frappuccino: A blend of strawberry puree, chocolate chips, milk, and ice, on top of strawberry puree — topped with whipped cream and mocha drizzle. Grande, $6.25

  • Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew: Starbucks Cold Brew with vanilla syrup and hazelnut cream cold foam, topped with chocolate cookie crumbles. Grande, $5.45

And you'll also see Starbucks first beverages using a savory herb in the recipe. Here's the Blackberry Sage beverage lineup:

  • Blackberry Sage Refresher: Green coffee extract shaken with blackberry and sage flavors and blackberry inclusions. Grande, $5.45

  • Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher: Green coffee extract and lemonade shaken with blackberry and sage flavors and blackberry inclusions. Grande, $5.95

  • Midnight Drink: Green coffee extract and coconut milk shaken with blackberry and sage flavors and blackberry inclusions. Grande, $5.95

The Starbucks winter menu dropped on Jan. 3, with prices starting at $4.25.

2025 Starbucks Winter Menu

The Cortado is a new addition and has three Ristretto shots of Starbucks Blonde espresso and steamed whole milk. Get a dairy-free (and sweeter) version with the Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado.

Food-wise, they're bringing back the Vanilla Bean Custard Danish and adding a new vegan Spicy Falafel Pocket with a Bitchin' Sauce made with almonds and chipotle.

Here’s what else is on the post-holiday menu:

Prices vary by location.

  • Cortado: $4.45 for Short size only

  • Brown Sugar Oatmilk Cortado: $4.95 for Short size only

  • Pistachio Latte: $6.25 for Grande ($0.50 higher than last year)

  • Pistachio Cream Cold Brew: $5.45 for Grande ($0.20 higher than last year)

  • Spicy Falafel Pocket: $4.45

  • Bitchin' Sauce Chipotle Almond Dip: $1.50

  • Vanilla Bean Custard Danish: $4.25 ($0.30 higher than last year)

  • Valentine Cake Pop: $3.45 ($0.20 more than other cake pops)

KCL TIP: To get a Cortado for $1 less, order a triple shot of Blonde espresso in a short cup and ask your barista to add some steamed whole milk. This isn't an option on the app, but many baristas will do it free of charge in the cafe.

The Starbucks Matcha is now unsweetened — and it's cheaper.

Not new to the menu but a change all the same, Starbucks is updating their Matcha recipe. The powder is now unsweetened, and all Matcha drinks will be made with a blender rather than the shaker. Matcha-based drinks will now be sweetened with Classic syrup and can be made unsweetened by request.

You'll be surprised to know that the prices for the new Matcha drinks have actually decreased.

Prices vary by location.

  • Matcha Latte: $5.25 ($0.20 less than last year)

  • Iced Matcha Latte: $5.45 ($0.20 less than last year)

  • Iced Matcha Lemonade: $4.25 (same price as last year)

Get Starbucks winter menu items free with Starbucks Rewards and reusable cups.

If you’re not getting free Starbucks by earning Starbucks Rewards Stars, you’re missing out. And if you don’t use a Starbucks reusable cup every time you get a drink at Starbucks, you’re not earning those Stars nearly as quickly as you could be.

Every time you bring your reusable cup to Starbucks, you get 10 cents off, but you also get 25 Stars added to your account. Do that just four times and you’ve earned 100 Stars — which will get you a free hot or iced coffee or tea.

Use 100 Stars to get a free coffee; then customize it instead of using 200 Stars on a winter drink.

My absolute favorite Starbucks hack is to use 100 Stars on a free coffee and customize it to create one of the Starbucks winter drinks. So instead of using 200 Stars to score a free Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, get a free Starbucks coffee in half the time by customizing an iced coffee.

Customize a free iced coffee to create a Pistachio Cream Cold Brew.

Here's how to do this in the Starbucks app:

  1. Order a Grande Iced Coffee.

  2. Click to "Customize."

  3. Add two pumps of Vanilla Syrup.

  4. Add Pistachio Cream Cold Foam.

  5. Add Salted-Brown Buttery Topping.

  6. Use 100 Stars at checkout to get this drink for free.
