Through Dec. 15 (or as soon as 2.9 million people have claimed it — whichever happens first), Taco Bell is offering a free Chalupa Cravings Box and a free Doritos Locos Taco to anyone who signs up for Taco Bell Rewards inside the app.
It’s a good amount of food for a free offer. It might even hold your teenager over for a few hours if you’re lucky.
But there’s a slight catch…
To qualify, you must be new to Taco Bell Rewards.
As long as you’ve never downloaded the app or signed up for Taco Bell Rewards before, you’ll qualify for this offer. This freebie is for new sign-ups only.
If you’ve signed up before, consider joining Taco Bell Rewards with a different email address.
So many of us have multiple email addresses, and if you’re in that category, try using a different one than the address you signed up with. I can’t guarantee that this is a foolproof way to get free Taco Bell, but it worked for me this morning.
Another idea is to grab your partner’s or roommate’s phone and sign up. It’s up to you whether you’ll share a taco with them.
Once you sign up, be patient. It takes about 5-10 minutes for the freebie to show up.
After you create a new Taco Bell Rewards account, you won’t see the free Chalupa Box and Doritos Locos Taco immediately. Don’t stress. It took a few minutes for it to pop up in my account.
Go to the “My Rewards” tab at the bottom of the app to find your free food. The rewards will show up as two different coupons, and they both have expiration dates for about two weeks from the day you signed up.
To redeem your free food offers, place a mobile order and pick it up at the restaurant.
Don’t expect to show up at a Taco Bell and flash your coupons at an employee to get your free food. You must order through the Taco Bell app and pick your order up at the restaurant.
