The yearly ritual of tax season is upon us, but don’t worry, there are some silver linings to help ease the pain. That’s right, Tax Day (April 18), has turned into a pretty good food holiday, when you can score some free grub! From sweet treats to savory bites, a variety of restaurants and businesses are offering up food deals to help celebrate the end of tax season. So gather your friends and family and take advantage of this delicious opportunity.
Restaurants haven’t announced their deals for 2023, but we’ve compiled a list of last year’s deals so we know what to expect.
In addition to the regular slate of Taco Tuesday deals, here’s a quick list of everything you can expect to cash in on for free (or at a bargain price) on Tuesday, April 18:
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse

For Tax Day 2022, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse offered $10 off a $40 purchase when you ordered online for takeout or delivery.
Boston Market

If you visited Boston Market on Tax Day 2022, you could get a half chicken meal for only $10.40 — a 15.4% discount from the original $12.29 price. It came with two sides, cornbread, a fountain beverage, and a cookie. No coupon was necessary, and you could get this deal in person and online.
Corner Bakery

If you were a Corner Bakery Rewards member, you got a coupon sent to your rewards account on Tax Day for a free Hazelnut Cold Brew (regularly $3.88) with any purchase.
Plus, you received $5 off your order if it was your first time using the Corner Bakery Rewards program.
Firehouse Subs

At Firehouse Subs, you could get a free medium sub (regularly $8.89) when you purchased a medium or larger sub, drink, and chips (regularly $12.78).
This deal was only available in restaurants, and not all Firehouse Subs were running this deal.
Great American Cookie

Great American Cookie was upholding their Tax Day deal by giving customers a free chocolate chip cookie (regularly $1.89) with any purchase on Tax Day 2022. This deal was available both in store and online when you use the code TAX.
Hooters

On Tax Day 2022, kids under 12 could get a free meal if you spent at least $15 at Hooters. This deal was available in restaurants only.
This deal was only available for one day, but there are several kids-eat-free meals that you can get year-round.
Kona Grill

The pain of Tax Day 2022 was eased at Kona Grill with double margaritas for $10.40. That’s a 5% discount from the usual price ($5.50 per margarita).
Mountain Mike’s Pizza

At Mountain Mike’s Pizza, you could get a 20-inch Mountain Sized pizza (regularly $34.99) for only $10.40 — a 70.2% discount. This deal was available online or in person.
Noodles & Company

Noodles & Company was making Tax Season much easier by giving freebies to Noodles Rewards members every weekend up to April 24, 2022. Members got a coupon sent to their account automatically. Here’s what they were giving:
- April 15 – 17: Free delivery
- April 22 – 24: BOGO entrees
PDQ

If you lived in FL, NC, SC, NJ, or NY, you could use the code $1OFF to get $1 off all orders at PDQ when you ordered off their website or the PDQ app.
Potbelly

If you used the promo code BOGO on the Potbelly’s app or website on Tax Day 2022, you got BOGO free sandwiches. This offer was available at all locations.
Plus, if you became a Potbelly Perks member, you got a free sandwich after your first purchase.
Round Table Pizza

If you headed to Round Table Pizza on Tax Day 2022 and ordered either a large (regularly $25.99) or extra-large pizza (regularly $29.99), you could get a personal-sized pizza with up to four toppings for only $4.18 — a 58.1% discount from the original $9.99 price.
This deal could be redeemed through the Round Table Pizza app or in person at all Round Table Pizza locations.
