Amazon has tweaked their delivery options so many times over the years, and various options have come and gone. And now, Amazon's testing new and faster delivery options in some cities. You can get your stuff in just three hours, in one hour, or even 30 minutes in some cases. You'll pay extra fees, though, even if you're a Prime member.
Just add this to Amazon's many other delivery options, including their free same-day grocery delivery.
Here's what to to know about these new speedier delivery options, including how much it costs and what you can use it for. Prime members will pay less for the service (it's just one of the many ways to save money with Amazon Prime).

What KCL Experts Think You Should Know
-
Extra-fast delivery isn't available everywhere: Three-hour delivery is available in 2,000 cities; one-hour delivery is available in hundreds of cities; and 30-minute delivery hasn't rolled out nationwide yet (it's just in Seattle and Philadelphia, and it's called Prime Now). To see the fastest option in your city, look at the navigation bar on Amazon's site. It'll say either "3 Hour Delivery," "1 Hour Delivery," or "30 Minute Delivery."
-
Not all items are eligible: To see what's available for faster delivery near you, shop on this page. These new delivery windows are mostly for daily essentials (think toothpaste, cosmetics, pet treats, diapers, some electronics, snacks, produce, dairy, and other things you might need ASAP).
-
Faster delivery isn't free, not even for Prime members:
-
Prime members pay $9.99 per order for 1-hour delivery and $4.99 for 3-hour delivery.
-
Non-Prime members pay $19.99 per order for 1-hour delivery and $14.99 for 3-hour delivery.
-
If you're in one of the two cities (Philadelphia and Seattle) that have 30-minute delivery via Prime Now, the delivery costs are $3.99 for Prime members and $13.99 for non-Prime members. But you have to place an order of at least $15 (or pay an extra $1.99 on top of the regular fee).

How Amazon's New Delivery Options Compares to Other Fast Delivery Options
Amazon's not the only service providing fast delivery, but it's certainly one of the fastest. Here are some other options:
-
Walmart Express: Get delivery in as fast as one hour for a fee. It costs $10 on top of the regular delivery fee ($7.95 - $9.95). If you have Walmart Plus, you won't pay the regular delivery fee, just the Express $10 fee.
-
Target Same-Day Delivery: Exact speed depends (we've seen delivery in as soon as 90 minutes). It costs $9.99 per order, unless you have Target Circle 360, in which case it's free on orders of $35 or more.
-
Instacart Priority: Priority delivery gets you your order in 30 minutes - one hour. Select "Priority" at checkout. If you have Instacart+, you'll pay a $2.99 Priority fee. If you don't, you'll pay $9.99 - $10.98, depending on location and order size. Instacart also has a 2-hour delivery option (Fast), which costs $7.99 for non Instacart+ members (waived for Instacart+ members). Instacart frequently offers waived fees on deliveries for members and non-members alike, though, so your fees may differ.
If you're already a Prime member, paying $3.99 - $9.99 for these faster delivery speeds is a good value and often cheaper than the options above. Not a Prime member? The value is less clear-cut, but paying up to $19.99 may be worth it to get your stuff fast.
Amazon Now doesn't replace Prime delivery options.
Amazon Now doesn't replace existing free and fast delivery options that Prime members already have. It's just an additional option if you're really in a hurry.
Prime members still get the following:
-
Free delivery in two days or less with Prime. This includes same-day and next-day delivery on select items in certain areas.
-
Free same-day grocery delivery (on select grocery items) for orders over $25.
-
Access to the $9.99 grocery delivery subscription for 1-hour delivery on all grocery orders over $35.
