After many months of seeing some shockingly good Walmart deals shared by my colleagues at The Krazy Coupon Lady, I decided to ask our team of Walmart deal hunting experts for their input on what I should be shopping for this October and November.
And boy, did they come through with some recommendations for me (and you) going into this busy holiday season. Cheap Walmart clothing came up a lot (including Wrangler jeans and puffer vests), as did $5 candles and Walmart toy deals that even beat Target's prices.
I've rounded up our deal hunters' favorite hidden gems to buy at Walmart this season, along with the exact price drops to watch for.

What Our Editors Are Shopping for This October During Holiday Deals
Prices quoted below may vary depending on your location.
1. Artificial Christmas trees for $39 — 36% cheaper than Target.
If you want to spend less than $50 on a new artificial Christmas tree, Walmart makes that happen during the holiday season. Our team is eyeing this 6.5-foot Holiday Time Pre-Lit Tree (currently $39), which comes in three colors and includes color-changing lights.
Our take: "It’s not on sale, but compared to a similar one at Target for $55, it’s a major steal. I just haven’t acted on it yet." — Shelbi K.
2. Big Chill puffer vests (once they drop below $15).
Deal hunter Shelbi tells me she's on the lookout for a cheap puffer vest during the Walmart Holiday Deals Event in October. Just like last year, the Big Chill Women's Puffer Vest is marked down to $14.99 (regularly $25.96), which saves you 43%.
Our take: "We typically see pretty good deals on [puffer vests] for the Walmart Deals event, so I’m crossing my fingers they’ve got something lined up." — Shelbi K.
3. Wooden wick candle jars for $5, or about 50% off.
One of the hot deals during Walmart's October Holiday Deals Event is a Better Homes & Gardens 14-ounce candle for $5 (regularly around $10). Now that it's October, they've restocked some fall and winter scents (like Farm Apple Pumpkin and Noble Fir and Pine).
Our take: "I'm stocking up on a few of the $5 Better Homes & Gardens Wooden Wick Candles because it's a great price for a nice size candle." — Jill G.
4. Men's long-sleeve tees for $5 (28% off).
After reviewing all the deals in Walmart's Holiday Deals Event in October, KCL deal hunter Jill told me that their George Men's Long Sleeve Tees (as low as $5, regularly $6.98) are likely to sell out fast. These are a great stock-up item because they come in 10 different colors.
5. Fall decor like pumpkins and seasonal signs — cheaper than Target.
Even though Target's fall decorations are tempting, Walmart usually has the lower prices. For example, Walmart's 10-inch pumpkin-shaped fabric pillows are as low as $7.49 (regularly $11.97), while Target has similar pumpkin-shaped velvet pillows that start at $20.
Our take: "While I love Target’s collections, Walmart is usually the more affordable option for pumpkins and seasonal signs." — Mairyn B.

And the Walmart Finds We're Shopping for This November During Black Friday
6. Melissa & Doug toys and puzzles as low as $5.
KCL deal hunter Mairyn told me she's watching for Walmart Black Friday deals on Melissa & Doug toys so she can stock up on gifts for her niece.
Our take: "Usually, Walmart has steep discounts on Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles. Last year they were $5 on sale [during Black Friday], so I’m hoping for that same price drop this year." — Mairyn B.
7. A Pioneer Woman Dutch oven for $39.97 or less.
Walmart is one of our favorite places to buy Pioneer Woman cookware, and KCL readers are always hunting for deals on them. One of the deals our team will be watching for this season is a sale price on this 5-Quart Pioneer Woman Dutch Oven (regularly $39.97).
Our take: "I've been wanting to get into baking sourdough bread and I'm a huge Pioneer Woman fan, so I'm hoping to find this Pioneer Woman 5-Quart Dutch Oven on sale." — Jill G.
8. A SaluSpa inflatable hot tub for under $200 (normally $500+).
Anytime we see the price on a SaluSpa hot tub at Walmart drop under $300, it sells out. And we fully expect that to happen when the Walmart Holiday Deals Event gets underway this October.
During last year's sale, we shared a deal for a Mossy Oak SaluSpa hot tub for just $198 (regularly $524), which was its biggest price drop of the year.
9. Men's Wrangler jeans for as low as $13 a pair, or 35% off.
When I asked the KCL team about the deals they're hoping to see during this year's Walmart Black Friday sale, they mentioned these Men's Wrangler Jeans (regularly $19.98) that come in a dozen colors.
Last year, the jeans went on sale for as low as $13 a pair, and our team hopes to see that sale price return again during Black Friday.
Our take: "My husband goes through denim like crazy and I need a deal to stock the closet." — Shelbi K.
10. A new pair of Crocs for as low as $24.99 (50% off).
Last year, Walmart slashed the price on Crocs Unisex Baya Clog Sandals down to just $24.99 (regularly $49.99) during their Holiday Kickoff event in mid-October. We're crossing our fingers that this online-only deal pops up again sometime in October 2024. (They're on sale for $34.99 right now.)
Our take: "If my dog chews up my Crocs again, I know to jump on that sale price as soon as it goes live." — Mairyn B.
11. Digital photo frames for less than $50.
One of the most-shopped deals for KCL readers last holiday season at Walmart was a 10-inch Simply Smart Digital Photo Frame for $49 (currently $74.84). We're hoping for — and expecting — this hot deal price to return in 2024, given how popular the deal was last year.
Our take: "I’m thinking this year there will be some better deals [on digital photo frames]." — Danielle L.
12. Foldable sofa beds for $175 (but hoping for a deal price under $150).
Our team is also watching for furniture deals at Walmart this holiday season. KCL deal hunter Danielle L. told me that she's eyeing this Aukfa foldable sofa bed for $175, hoping to see it drop even lower during upcoming sales.
Our take: "I’m waiting to see if Walmart will drop the price so I can score it for less than $150. I’ve seen one on Amazon in the $400s." — Danielle L.
13. Holiday wrapping paper for around $3 a roll.
After crunching the numbers on wrapping paper costs last year, we determined that Walmart has some of the best deals on wrapping paper out of all the major retailers (they tied with Target and Dollar Tree for the cheapest price per square foot, at $0.03).
KCL team member Mairyn agrees, telling me that Walmart's holiday wrapping paper is a must-buy during the fall season.
Our take: "I always buy my wrapping paper at Walmart for Christmas. There are usually a lot of prints to choose from, and it's affordable." — Mairyn B.
Bonus: a Walmart Plus membership ($12.95 per month, or $98 per year).
Okay, this last Walmart find isn't technically an item. But KCL deal writers told me that they love their Walmart Plus membership and would recommend signing up whenever there's an active deal.
Our take: "I personally love my Walmart+ membership and recommend it to everyone who asks," KCL Deal Writer Shelbi told me. "I like the free shipping aspect and especially the free grocery delivery. I was able to get my first year half-off during the Walmart Deals Event [in July]."
However, if you're already a paid member of the Target 360 program, it's likely not worth the extra spend. "If you have Target 360, I don’t think you need both," says KCL Deal Manager Mairyn. "I would recommend choosing whichever same-day delivery option has a store closest to your house."
