Look out, Swifties: The Dairy Queen Summer Blizzard season is well underway, and now it looks like the “Taylor Swift Blizzard” has joined the menu.
Social media was abuzz at Dairy Queen’s posts that connected the popular Cotton Candy Blizzard to the recent re-release of Taylor’s third album, Speak Now. Plenty of fans have taken the opportunity to express their support of the surprise alliance, and are pleading for the Blizzard to be a year-round menu item.
If you’re hungry for some T-Swift dessert, um, speak now, because it’s not around forever. And then download the KCL app to keep up on the best restaurant deals and news.
Dairy Queen’s Cotton Candy Blizzard has become the Taylor Swift Blizzard.

The summertime Cotton Candy Blizzard became the Taylor Swift Blizzard when Dairy Queen posted a photo of the Blizzard on Instagram with a purple background — matching the aesthetic of the Speak Now album — with the simple caption, “Treat Now”.
Of course, there’s nothing particularly Swiftie about the Cotton Candy Blizzard itself. It’s essentially made from their standard vanilla soft-serve ice cream mixed with candy pieces that have a cotton candy flavor.
But the fandom responded with lots of positive comments. And then DQ doubled down by posting on Twitter that anyone named John would be “blocked and reported” (referring to the song “Dear John”, of course). Taylor herself hasn’t said anything about the Blizzard yet, so we’re guessing the whole thing is an unofficial connection.
The Taylor Swift Blizzard will be available until the end of August.

Like the rest of the DQ Summer Blizzards — the Oreo Brookie Blizzard, the Peanut Butter Puppy Chow Blizzard, the S’mores Blizzard, and the Choco Dipped Strawberry Blizzard — the Cotton Candy “Taylor Swift” Blizzard will only be available during the summer season. So until the end of August, we’ll be singing, “Give me something that’ll haunt me when you’re not around.” (Yep, those are lyrics from the Speak Now album.)
