In honor of Disney Plus Day — the annual celebration of Disney’s streaming service that happened on Sept. 8, 2022 — Disney Cruise Line is running a special deal on cruises that will let your third and fourth guests sail for free with the purchase of two full-fare tickets. In order to get this deal, you’ll have to be a Disney Plus subscriber, and it’s only valid for select cruises.
While we’ve known for a while about all the ways to save by being a Disney Plus member, our Mickey ears perked up when we heard about the potential for cruise savings. Mainly because Disney cruises aren’t cheap! On the surface, this latest promotion sounds like a great deal for a family of four, but we dug into all the details to see how it stacks up — and if it’s worth subscribing to Disney Plus just to get the discount.

But is this Disney Cruise 2023 deal really that great?
If you already plan on booking a cruise, this Disney Cruise Line deal will save you a little bit of money. Now, I will warn you — you won’t save hundreds like you’re probably thinking. When I checked the prices to book a cruise with the Disney Plus discount and without it, I only saw a difference of about a hundred dollars. Unfortunately, it appears that Disney inflates the price for the two full-fare guests so that the two free fares are almost a wash.
For example, with the Disney Plus discount, I found a 4-night Western Caribbean Cruise from Galveston listed at $772 each for the first and second adults, and the two additional children would be free. This comes out to a total of $1899.88 after you add in the taxes, fees, and port expenses.
The same exact cruise without the Disney Plus discount had two adults priced at $492 each and the two additional children at $332 each. After you add in taxes, fees, and port expenses, the total is $1991.88. This means the Disney Plus discount only saves you $92. So much for buy one get one!
Signing up for Disney Plus is worth it to get the cruise discount.
If you’re planning on booking a cruise anyway, signing up for a monthly subscription to Disney Plus is definitely worth it. As mentioned above, the potential savings will be around $92, which is a bit more than what you’ll pay for a year’s worth of a Disney Plus subscription.

The Disney Cruise military discount can save you up to 8% on select sailings.
Disney Cruise Line offers special military discounts for all retired and active U.S. military personnel and their spouses. You’ll need to show proof of military service to receive your special military rate.
Only select Disney Cruises will qualify for the military discount. To see which cruises currently offer the discount, check the list at the bottom of their Military Rates page. Typically, military discounts on Disney cruises become available 30 to 60 days before the ship sets sail. Disney also limits each cruise to only 50 staterooms per discount category for booking.
