The days of automatically redeeming Ibotta offers at Target are officially over, as of November 2022. The cash-back rebate app Ibotta sent out an email to their users on Nov. 30, 2022, stating “Due to ongoing issues, account linking at Target will be permanently unavailable.” Looks like we’re going back to the old days of uploading a picture of our receipt to get our Ibotta rebates at Target.

Ever since August 2022, the Ibotta app lost the option of using Ibotta rebates for online purchases made on Target.com. At the time, their team said they were aware of the glitch and that they’d fix it, but now it looks like they’re giving that up and just focusing on in-store paper receipts only.

Let’s take a look at how to use Ibotta at Target so you can take advantage of all the possible savings, now that things have changed a little.

Remember to download the official Krazy Coupon Lady app so you don’t miss out on any Target deals.

In the Ibotta email alert sent out on Nov. 30, 2022, they say that your Target account will automatically be unlinked from your Ibotta account by Dec. 5, 2022. You can also quickly unlink it yourself using the steps below.

Here’s how to unlink Target from your Ibotta app:

  • In the Ibotta app, go to your Profile drop-down from the home page, then tap “Profile.”

  • Tap “Settings.”

  • Go to “Linked accounts.”

  • Choose “Unlink” next to your Target account email address.

How to Use Ibotta at Target:

1. Add Target Ibotta offers before you shop in store.

Just click the plus sign next to the rebate offer you want to take advantage of, shop for those items, and check out, which leads to the next thing you have to do.

2. Submit your Target receipt in the app.

Since your Target purchases aren’t automatically redeemed anymore, you can only redeem in-store purchases. After you add your offers to your Ibotta account and you shop at Target, just upload a picture of your receipt to the Ibotta app within seven days of your purchase.
