Every year it seems like I struggle to find the perfect teacher gift.  I want it to be adorable and wonderful but also inexpensive. Here is a great idea for a teacher gift that delivers on all counts!  Your kids will enjoy helping you make it, and teachers will love fighting germs in the holiday spirit.  Perfect!

Supplies Needed:

  • hand sanitizer
  • Goo Gone or other adhesive remover
  • red paper
  • white paper
  • black paper or ribbon
  • alphabet stickers (or a label maker if you have one)
  • glue or adhesive
  • duct tape
  • scissors
  • Mod Podge (optional)

  1. [optional] Remove all labels from your hand sanitizer bottle using Goo Gone or other adhesive remover.  Make sure your bottle is completely dry before proceeding.
  2. Cut red paper to fit snugly around the bottle and secure with glue.
  3. Cut a strip of black paper or ribbon to fit around the bottle as Santa’s “belt”.  Secure with glue.
  4. Cut a strip of white paper to fit around the bottom of the bottle in a scallop pattern.  You can freehand this or use special scrapbook scissors or cutters to create the scallops. Place on the bottom of the red paper and secure with glue.
  5. Cut a square of duct tape for Santa’s “belt buckle”.  Cut a smaller square inset and stick on over the black ribbon/paper.
  6. Using a label maker or alphabet stickers, put “Santa-tizer” on the top of the bottle, above the red paper.
  7. Optional – If you want to make the bottle more durable, cover the paper and label/stickers with a coat of Mod Podge.

Thanks, Beth
