It’s Girl Scout Cookie time, and every year the Scouts are figuring out how to make it easier for us to buy these things.
When the Covid-19 pandemic was just starting last spring, Girl Scouts pivoted quickly and made online cookie sales widespread.
This year, as they face a drastic reduction in in-person selling opportunities, they’re teaming up with Grubhub to bring them right to your door about as fast as you can say “thin mints.”
Here’s what you need to know:
You can get 2021 Girl Scout cookies online with free shipping.
Although the official press release from Girl Scouts says nationwide online ordering goes live Feb. 1, plenty of troops are already selling cookies.
Some troops are even offering free shipping for a limited time. You can find these troops by searching “girl scout cookies free shipping” on Twitter, or otherwise do this:
- Visit the Girl Scouts Cookie Care website
- Select a local council using a zip code
- Find the order page via the local council’s site
Girl Scout Cookie deliveries are available in select cities via Grubhub.
Get free Grubhub Girl Scout Cookie deliveries in select cities for all orders of $15 or more. And Grubhub has waived all their fees to ensure the Scouts get the maximum proceeds.
Yes, the individual Scouts are still involved in the Cookie business.
Girl Scouts are running virtual cookie booths starting Feb. 1 via the Girl Scout Cookie Care page, and they’re also tracking and fulfilling Grubhub orders using that company’s technology.
Every Scout also has their own cookie sales page that they’ll be sharing with potential customers via email and social media.
No matter which way you buy, all of the proceeds from the cookie sales will go to local Girl Scout troops and the council in the zip code you choose.
There’s a new French Toast-inspired cookie for 2021.
In case you needed another reason to buy Girl Scout Cookies this year, the Toast-Yay is here.
The icing-dipped cookie is available wherever the ABC Bakers supply Girl Scout Cookies (California, Nevada, lots of the Midwest and Eastern Seaboard).
If you’re a superfan, get yourself some K-Swiss Girl Scout Cookie-inspired shoes.
Shoe-maker K-Swiss has teamed up with Girl Scouts for a new cookie-inspired shoe collection.
The shoes, which range in price from $50-$70, are inspired by Thin Mints, Samoas/Caramel deLites, and Trefoils/Shortbread — with colors to match.
