In 2025, the Macy's Presidents Day sale ran Feb. 11 - 17. We expect it to keep that timing next year, meaning it'll kick off Feb. 10, the Tuesday before Presidents Day weekend. However, expect the sale to have different stages. In 2025, the first round of deals was on furniture, with deals on clothing and smaller home goods starting on the Saturday of Presidents Day weekend. So, if you're after deals on big-ticket items, be ready early. If you're after a wider range of deals, be ready to wait until the holiday weekend.

As usual, the 2024 sale offered the deepest discounts on home goods, but had savings on clothing as well. Our favorite deals included:

Macy's Star Rewards, the retailer's loyalty program, gives members points on Macy's purchases that you can redeem as Macy's Star Money (1,000 points = $10 Star Money Reward). The starter tier (Bronze) earns 1 point per $1 spent (so have to spend $1,000 at Macy's to get $10 in Star Money).
If you're buying big-ticket items on sale during the Presidents Day sale, it's an opportunity to rack up some Star Money. If you have Star Money in your Macy's account, consider redeeming it during Presidents Day. Just know that, if you're redeeming it for furniture and mattresses, Macy's requires you to contact customer service to redeem Star Money on those purchases.
What usually goes on sale for Presidents Day?
Again, this is a big time for discounts on bedding, like comforter sets, as well as mattresses and pillows. You'll also see other homewares on sale, like kitchen gadgets, towels, curtains, and more. At Macy's, every department has some markdowns, but the deals won't be as major for clothing, shoes, toys, and beauty. With clothing, winter apparel won't hit its steepest markdown until March, while spring and summer apparel has just entered stores and isn't ready for price cuts yet.
