Buckle up, Shamrock Shake fans: The McDonald's Shamrock Shake is back at all locations as of Feb. 17. We paid $4.69 for a small, which is $0.90 more expensive than what we paid last year.

Listen, we don't love paying almost an entire dollar more for something, but we did find some McDonald's deals in the app to offset the higher price.

Plus, there's always the fun McDonald’s secret menu items you can get only when the Shamrock Shake is available. And, as always, we’ll keep you updated on any McDonald’s deals that come up.

This year, the Shamrock Shake is available from Feb. 17 - March 17 (ish). They typically sell it while supplies last, and many stores are out by mid-March.

  • Feb. 17, 2026 (a week later this year, and more expensive — ugh)

  • Feb. 10, 2025

  • Feb. 21, 2018

McDonald’s Shamrock Shake costs around $1 more this year (price varies by location).

How much is a McDonald's Shamrock Shake? In 2025, we paid $3.79 for a small, $3.99 for a medium, and $4.39 for a large. In 2026, we're seeing the following prices (which vary by location):

  • Small: $4.69

  • Medium: $5.19

  • Large: $5.39

These prices are in the Pittsburgh, PA, area, and prices vary from region to region, so you may want to contact your local McDonald’s for more information on specific Shamrock Shake prices.

Can you get a deal on the Shamrock Shake?

Check your McDonald's app for digital offers and deals that can make the higher price of the Shamrock Shake a little easier to accept. Right now, our favorite deal is the free medium fries with any $2 purchase.

We paid $4.69 for a small Shamrock Shake and got a medium fry (regularly $3.49) for free.

Will the Shamrock McFlurry return to McDonald's too?

You bet! We confirmed with a few stores, and here's the pricing we found for 2026 (which might vary by region):

  • Mini: $2.99 ($0.80 more this year)

  • Regular: $4.99 ($1.10 more this year)

The Mini McFlurry size came out in 2024, and it's actually a great value when you calculate cost per ounce.

Here’s where you can get even more St. Patrick’s Day exclusive foods.

The McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is just one of the many exclusive St. Patrick’s Day drinks and treats that you can get this time of year. Here are a few more we think you'll see in the upcoming weeks:

  • Dairy Queen Mint Oreo Blizzard (regularly $4.09): A similar flavor to the Shamrock McFlurry, this exclusive Blizzard will likely return in March.

  • Dunkin' Donuts Irish Cream Swirl (regularly $4.75): As a part of the Dunkin' Donuts spring menu , Dunkin' released a St. Patrick’s Day-themed drink in past years, and we think we'll see another this year.

  • Einstein Bros. Bagels Green Schmear (regularly $1.59): For the same price as the regular shmear, Einstein Bros. celebrates St. Patrick’s Day by giving us a green version of their original shmear.

  • Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Green Dozens (regularly $14.99): Krispy Kreme sold an exclusive green version of the Original Dozens on St. Patrick’s Day in the past, and we're looking forward to it again this year.
