During this once-a-year time of recognition, these essential healthcare heroes get extra love with discounts, freebies, and special healthcare worker deals.

While there are lots of year-round discounts for nurses, the best perks happen every year from May 6 - 12, with deals like free menu items at TGI Fridays, and free BIG Tea at McAlister's Deli. If you’re a nurse, just show your work ID to get in on the savings.

For many of the deals, you'll need to verify your eligibility through third-party sites like SheerID, ID.me, and GovX.com.

National Nurses Week is an annual event when businesses give nurses freebies and deals.

National Nurses Week starts on National Nurses Day, May 6 and ends on May 12, which is the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

During National Nurses Week, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and communities honor nurses with events, awards, and other acts of appreciation. Many businesses also participate by offering exclusive discounts, specials, and freebies for nurses.

National Nurses Day will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, which is the start of National Nurses Week.

National Nurses Day is always on May 6, whatever day of the week it falls on. And Nurses Day is always the beginning of National Nurses Week, which takes place over the following week. In 2026, Nurse Appreciation Week will end on Tuesday, May 12.

Applebee’s: Nurses who dine in at Applebee’s will receive a free appetizer with an entree purchase during National Nurses Week this year. It will likely be exclusive to Flynn Applebee's locations in AL, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, MA, ME, MN, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OR, PA, RI, VT, WA, WI, WV, and Plattsburg, NY. Bad Daddy's Burger Bar: Nurses can enjoy a $4 Bad Ass Margarita at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. You can also enjoy Happy Hour deals like $4 drinks and $6 food from 3 - 6 p.m. May 4 - 8.

Bubbakoo's Burritos: From May 7 - 15, nurses and other medical professionals can sign up for the Bubbakoo's Burritos loyalty program (it's free to join) to receive a BOGO entree reward. You'll receive the reward digitally on May 16. It's redeemable until May 31.
Capriotti's: From May 4 - 12, Capriotti's is offering nurses 20% off in-store orders (excludes catering) when they present a valid ID.
Caribou Coffee: Nurses can get a free large Coffee of the Day or cold press at Caribou Coffee on May 6. Limit one time, in store only.
Chicken Salad Chick: Chicken Salad Chick is offering a BOGO free deal on their large Quick Chick Salads during National Nurses Week 2026. Limit of three. Offer valid on May 8.
Chick-fil-A: Select Chick-fil-A restaurants are offering nurses a free chicken sandwich when they verify their eligibility through ID.me before May 1.
Chipotle: This year, Chipotle is giving away 100,000 burritos, in the form of Burrito E-Cards, to nurses (and other healthcare professionals). The giveaway ends on May 12.
