Cinemark Brings Back $5 BYOB for National Popcorn Day Jan. 18 - 19

National Popcorn Day is an actual holiday, y'all (and it's one I can 100% get behind). For one day in January, movie theaters and popcorn retailers offer deals that will save you major money.

I’ve rounded up all the major national chains and retailers that typically offer discounts on National Popcorn Day every year. Spoiler: My fave $5 BYOB (Bring Your Own Bucket) bargain at Cinemark theaters returns in 2026.

• Cinemark Theatres — BYOB for $5: Visit your local Cinemark Theatre on Jan. 18 - 19 and bring your own popcorn bucket to refill for just $5. The maximum bucket size you can bring is 400 ounces (50 cups).

• Emagine Theaters — $5 Any Size: Enjoy $5 popcorn in any size all day at Emagine Theaters on Jan. 19. Plus, get a pull-tab card with mystery prizes redeemable at a future visit.

• Marcus Theaters — Free Large Popcorn: Guests who purchase a ticket to any movie on January 19, 2026, at Marcus Theatres or Movie Tavern locations receive one free large popcorn.

• Regal Cinemas — Free Small Popcorn: Dress up as your favorite movie character and get a FREE large popcorn with any movie ticket purchase on Jan. 19.

• Showcase Cinema — Free Small Popcorn: Showcase Cinema Starpass reward members may get a free small popcorn with any movie ticket purchase on Jan. 19.

Predicted Deals

• AMC — Unlimited Refills, Any Size: Movie watchers may get unlimited refills on any size popcorn at AMC. Check the AMC Instagram page to see if this deal returns.

National Popcorn Day Retail Discounts (Predicted)

• The Popcorn Factory: Watch for 30% off sitewide for one day only to celebrate National Popcorn Day at The Popcorn Factory. They'll likely offer a coupon code for the discount.

• Doc Popcorn: Participating Doc Popcorn locations sometimes set up a designated 2-hour period on Jan. 19 to give away a free 12-ounce cup of Better Butter Doc Popcorn to customers visiting in-store.
