There are two types of Sam’s Club memberships.

There are two levels of membership. A basic Sam’s Club membership is $50 a year and $110 for Sam’s Club Plus. A regular membership will get you in the door and allow you to purchase anything in-store or online. You can also take advantage of the in-store instant savings events throughout the year. If you do most of your shopping in the physical store, the basic level will help you save the most money.

If you plan to make frequent high-dollar purchases or make a lot of online purchases, shelling out the additional $60 for a Plus membership can save you a lot of money. The perks and benefits of the Plus membership include free shipping on every online purchase, 2% Sam’s Cash up to $500, and even free select prescriptions.

Sam’s Club has the highest quality produce, meat, and more.

One of the best benefits of shopping at Sam’s Club is the quality of their meat and produce. Not only will you save money doing your grocery shopping there, but you’ll get much better food. They source high-quality products, so you’ll find ultra-fresh berries and bigger, fresher avocados than at your regular grocery store. (My strawberries always last over a week in the fridge!)

Their meat department is super high-quality too, so you can feel good about splurging on a steak or salmon dinner. Their seafood is all traceable and responsibly sourced, so you know it’s fresh—no matter where you live. They offer ultra-premium USDA prime beef that’s hand-trimmed by their expert butchers, and Sashimi-grade salmon you usually can’t even find in the grocery store. And if you need a quick week-night dinner, reviewers rave about the Maker’s Mark Prime Rib Ground Beef Sliders.

They have grab-and-go meals and bakery items at a fraction of the cost.

Speaking of quick weeknight dinners, Sam’s heat-and-eat meals are incredible—and way cheaper than ordering takeout on a busy evening. Grab a family-size chicken Alfredo or stock up on stuffed peppers you can eat all week. Prices vary based on weight and store location, but you can usually score meals for less than $4 a serving.

We also recommend stopping by The Cafe on your way out of the store for quick, inexpensive meals and snack items. Grab a hot dog combo for just $1.38 (there are no additives or preservatives!) or pick up a whole pizza to go.

And don’t sleep in their bakery department. They have freshly baked treats at low prices, so you can grab muffins for weekday breakfasts or a box of fresh cookies for the office. Whatever you do, you have to get the cinnamon rolls. The Member’s Mark All Butter Cinnamon rolls are made with flaky croissant dough and topped with decadent icing that’s seriously addictive.

You can even get a whole rotisserie chicken for less than $5!

One of the very best deals at Sam’s is the seasoned rotisserie chicken. It’s a hot, freshly-cooked, whole chicken—and it’s less than $5. I’m always shocked at how much meat I get off of one, and it’s one of my favorite cooking hacks. I’ll shred the chicken and pop it into a pot pie or a crock pot soup, and it’s much cheaper than buying and cooking my chicken.

You can sample most new and fan-favorite items at the sample stations.

Because most Sam’s Club products are packaged in higher quantities than the typical grocery store, you might be hesitant about trying something new. What if you don’t like it and you’re stuck with a whole bag of something your kids don’t like or won’t eat? Luckily, you can try samples of Sam’s most popular products (and usually their newest items, too!) at their Taste & Tips stations around the store. It’s a great way to try before you buy, and you can usually score a tasty snack while you shop.

The best part? All purchases come with a satisfaction guarantee.

We know becoming a Sam’s Club member is a great deal, but you don’t have to take our word for it. They offer a 100% Membership Satisfaction Guarantee, which means if you aren’t totally satisfied with your membership or its perks, Sam’s will cancel it and refund you.

The same goes for the quality of their products: With the 100% Merchandise Satisfaction Guarantee, they’ll replace or refund any product that doesn’t meet your expectations.

With the satisfaction guarantee, there’s no reason not to try it out for yourself.

Shopping at Sam’s Club can also save you time with quick and convenient checkout.

Sam’s Club is all about saving you both time and money. You already know you’ll find great deals at Sam’s, but you can save valuable time too with their super convenient checkout hacks.

Skip the long checkout line and zip through one of their self-check stations. Or, pay on your phone with Scan & Go feature in the Sam’s Club app. Just load your credit card or EBT card onto your account and you can check out in seconds.

They’ve also made it easier and more convenient to buy gas at Sam’s too. You don’t even have to dig your credit card out of your wallet — just scan the QR code with the app and start fueling up.

They even offer early shopping hours to Plus members for even faster shopping.

No more bumping into people in the aisles or waiting your turn at the sample station. Sam’s Club Plus members get early access to the store, which means you can skip the Saturday afternoon rush hour and be in and out in just minutes. Hours vary by location, but the store opens for Plus members as early as 8 A.M. Monday through Saturday.

You can get even more cashback with the Sam’s Club Mastercard.

Sam’s Club members can earn:

  • 5% back on gas anywhere MasterCard is accepted, not just at Sam’s Club fuel stations
  • 3% back on dining
  • 1% back on other purchases

And Plus members will earn even more:

  • 2% from being a Plus member
  • 3% with the Sam’s Club MasterCard

Speaking of savings, the Sam’s Club Fuel Center is for members only and can save you hundreds!

The Sam’s Club Fuel Center is like a private gas station only Sam’s members have access to — and it’s one of the easiest ways to save money on gas. Not only are their base gas prices lower than most gas stations, but they also have a 5-cent discount. And, you can pay at the pump with the Scan & Go feature, making it faster and easier to fuel up. Not every Sam’s Club has a fuel center, so use their Club Finder to find the location nearest to you. (You can also check the price of gas at each location too, so you know how much you’ll save before you head out).

You can also get prescriptions for as low as $4 — or free if you’re a Plus member!

The Sam’s Club pharmacy alone can make your membership worth it. They’ve been rated #1 in customer satisfaction for 7 years in a row, in part because their deals just can’t be beaten. Members can get generic prescription medications for as little as just $4, and members can get them for free. Talk to the pharmacy or use their online price check tool to see how much money you could save by switching. They even offer discounts on pet prescriptions!

Additional Sam’s Club membership benefits can earn cash back at other restaurants, stores, and online purchases.

Here’s how it works: Once you link your card, scroll through all the eligible bonuses.
