But there’s an update as of August 2025 — Target and Ulta have announced the shop-in-shop partnership will wrap up in 2026. That means if you’ve been meaning to check it out, now’s the time.

Head's Up: Target and Ulta are ending their shop-in-shop partnership in 2026.
Target and Ulta Beauty will wrap up their shop-in-shop partnership in August 2026 when their current agreement ends. Until then, you’ll still find Ulta Beauty locations inside select Target stores and online, and you can keep earning Ulta Beauty Rewards on eligible purchases.
Both companies say they’ll keep the experience seamless until the end. So enjoy the perks while they last.
You'll earn Ulta Beauty Rewards automatically at Target when you join and shop.
When you link your Target Circle account with your Ulta Beauty Rewards account, you’ll automatically earn points on your Ulta Beauty purchases from Target.
After linking accounts, just use your phone number at Target checkout or shop online using your linked Target account. You’ll receive your Ulta benefits automatically.

Ulta Beauty Rewards members will earn one point for every $1 spent.
-
Platinum members earn 1.25 points for every $1 (25% more).
-
Diamond members earn 1.5 points (50% more).
The downside? You can’t earn Ulta Beauty Rewards bonus points at Target, like the 2X Birthday bonus points and Ulta Beauty Rewards Credit Card 2X points.
Get Target sale prices on the same high-quality products from Ulta.
Ulta Beauty items are eligible for Circle Offers and other promos unless stated otherwise. And if your local Target doesn’t have an Ulta section, check Target.com and shop the deals online.
You can also find Target Circle Offers for prestige Ulta brands in the Target app. So far this year, we’ve seen 40% off Morphe, 30% off Clinique, and 50% off Florence brands at Ulta Target locations with Circle discounts.
You can also redeem your Circle rewards on your Ulta purchases at Target.
Get another 5% off Ulta products when you pay with your Circle Card.
Your Target Circle Card is gonna save you 5% on everything you buy at Target, including Ulta products. And remember how Circle Card gets you free 2-day shipping on orders over $35? Well, now you see why it doesn’t even matter if your local Target has an Ulta section or not, since it's easy to reach that $35 limit.
Keep in mind that you can't redeem Ulta Beauty Rewards points or Ulta gift cards at Target.
When cashing in your Ulta Beauty Rewards points, it's best to let your points accrue so they’ll be worth more:
-
100 points equals $3 (each point worth $0.03)
-
250 points equals $8 (each point worth $0.032)
-
500 points equals $17.50 (each point worth $0.035)
-
750 points (each point worth $0.04)
-
1,000 points equals $50 (each point worth $0.05)
But watch out for expiring Ulta points. Ulta Beauty Rewards expire at the end of the quarter, one year after the date they were earned. So if you make a purchase in April 2025, those points will expire at the end of the quarter (May 31st) in the year after your purchase (2026).
If you get in the habit of redeeming all your points once per year, you’ll never have to worry about expired points. And if you’re a Platinum or Diamond member, Ulta points don’t expire at all, as long as you maintain your Platinum or Diamond member status.
Got an Ulta gift card? Can’t use that either. Ulta Beauty gift cards don’t work online or in stores at Target.

And Ulta coupons don't work at Target.
The single biggest bummer is that you can’t use any Ulta coupons at Target. This includes the beloved $3 off $15 Ulta coupon.
While Ulta coupons for Target purchases aren’t a thing, Circle Offers are. We’ve even seen deals like up to 50% off Ulta Beauty items for Circle members in the past.
So far, Target and Ulta prices are identical, but Target will no longer match a lower price if they're not.

When Ulta sale events go live (like 21 Days of Beauty or Gorgeous Hair), Target typically has the same prices as Ulta stores. (Ulta, of course, has a larger selection of inventory.)
But if you do see a price difference, keep in mind that the Target price match policy no longer includes Ulta stores. So you'll want to shop wherever the deal is better in that case.
Ulta-in-Target items can only be returned at Target.
Honestly, I like the Target return policy just as much as Ulta’s return policy, so this bit of news doesn’t bother me one bit.
The policy here is straightforward: if you purchase an Ulta beauty product at Target, you can’t go to a regular Ulta to return it.
If the purchase was made in-store, you have to return it back at a physical Target location. If the purchase came from Target.com, you can return in store or ship it back.
Buy up to $500 in Target gift cards in December when they're 10% off (and get 10% off Ulta purchases).

Every year in December, Target sells their own gift cards for 10% off . The sale only lasts two days, and you can buy $500 in gift cards per account.
Save your pennies to get as many gift cards as you can afford in December, and it’ll be like you’re saving an extra 10% on Ulta Beauty products all year long. The best part about Target gift cards is you can load them to your account, which makes them impossible to lose.
