If you thought Starbucks in Target was great… I’ve got one better. How about Ulta in Target? Next, they need to rent rooms and I’m moving in.
A hundred Target Ulta stores are now open in twenty states. These stores-within-a-store bring over 50 new Ulta Prestige brands alongside Target’s existing products.
Ulta and Target are planning to have more than 250 locations by the end of 2022, with the eventual goal of 800 total.
Before getting into the juicy details, make sure you download the KCL app so you won’t miss a single one of our Target or Ulta deals. Link your Circle account with your Ultamate Rewards account to save 15% on Ulta Beauty at Target.
Target Circle members who are also Ultamate Rewards members can link their two accounts for special Ulta savings. You’ll score a Target Circle Offer for 15% off Ulta at Target purchases of $40 or more.
How to score this deal:
- Start by linking your accounts on Target.com.
- Find your 15% off coupon under Target Circle Offers online or in the Target app.
- Save the offer to your Circle account and shop for Ulta Beauty items in stores or online at Target.
In addition to the 15% off, you’ll score ongoing perks by linking your two accounts, too. Which brings me to my next point…
Link accounts to earn Target Circle and Ultamate Rewards at once.
After linking accounts, just use your phone number at Target checkout or shop online using your linked Target account. You’ll receive both Circle and Ulta benefits automatically.
Ultamate Rewards members will earn one point for every $1 spent.
- Platinum members earn 1.25 points for every $1 (25% more).
- Diamond members earn 1.5 points (50% more).
The down side? You can’t earn bonus points at Target Ulta locations — like the 2X Birthday bonus points and Ultamate Rewards Credit Card 2X points.
Get Target-level sales on Ulta-quality items.
Ulta-in-Target items are eligible for Target Circle promotions, unless stated otherwise. And if your local Target doesn’t have an Ulta inside, check Target.com and shop the promotions that way.
Find Target Circle offers for Ulta prestige brands in the Target Circle app. So far this year, we’ve seen 40% off Morphe, 30% off Clinique, and 50% off Florence brands at Ulta Target locations with Circle.
You can also redeem your Circle points on Ulta beauty at Target.
Earn another 5% off Ulta products at Target with your RedCard.
Your Target RedCard is gonna save you 5% back on everything you buy at Target, including Ulta products. And remember how RedCard gets you free 2-day shipping on orders over $35? Well, now you’re seeing how it doesn’t even matter if the Target in your city has an Ulta or not. Target.com beauty deals are about to get real good.
You can’t redeem Ulta points or gift cards at Target.
Although you can earn the points, you can’t use the points at Target. You’ll have to shop Ulta or Ulta.com for that. In my mind, this isn’t a big deal. It’s best to let your points accrue over a long period anyway.
Let your points accrue and they’ll be worth more.
- 100 points equals $3.00 (each point worth $0.03)
- 250 points equals $8.00 (each point worth $0.032)
- 500 points equals $17.50 (each point worth $0.035)
- 750 points (each point worth $0.04)
- 1000 points equals $50 (each point worth $0.05)
But watch out for expiring Ulta points. Ultamate Rewards expire at the end of the quarter one year after the date they were earned. So if you buy in April 2022, those points will expire at the end of the quarter (May 31st) in the year after your purchase (2023).
If you get in the habit of redeeming all your points once per year, you’ll never have to worry about expired points. And if you’re a Platinum or Diamond member, Ulta points don’t expire at all as long as you maintain your a Platinum or Diamond member status.

Got an Ulta gift card? Can’t use that either. Ulta Beauty gift cards don’t work at Target or on Target.com.
And Ulta coupons don’t work at Target.
The single biggest bummer is that you can’t use any Ulta coupons at Target. This includes the beloved $3 off $15 Ulta coupon.
We do get Target Circle offers for Ulta products. We’ve even seen 50% off Ulta Beauty items for Target Circle members.
So far, prices at Target and Ulta are identical, but Target will price match Ulta when they’re not.
Don’t stress about overpaying if you’re shopping at an Ulta in Target. My price comparisons have all come back with exact matches.
When Ulta sale events like 21 Days of Beauty or Gorgeous Hair, Target matches those prices too. (Ulta, of course, has a larger selection of inventory.)
Ulta is one of the online competitors that Target price matches, so even if Target doesn’t run the same sales someday, you’ll still be able to get even Ulta’s best deals at Target.
Ulta-in-Target items can only be returned at Target.
The policy here is straightforward: if you purchase an Ulta beauty product at Target, you can’t go to a regular Ulta to return it.
If the purchase was made in store, you have to return it back at a physical Target location. If the purchase came from Target.com, you can return in store or ship it back.
Buy up to $500 in Target gift cards in December when they’re 10% off.
Every year in December, Target sells their own gift cards for 10% off. The sale only lasts two days and you can only buy $500 in gift card per account.
Save your pennies and gobble up as many gift cards as you can afford in December and it’ll be like you’re saving an extra 10% on Ulta Beauty products all year long.
The best part about Target gift cards is you can load them to your account, which makes them impossible to lose!
