What KCL Experts Think You Should Know
-
Bath & Body Works products may have been sold by third parties on Amazon's marketplace for years, but this new storefront is the first official, authorized Bath & Body Works storefront on Amazon.
-
The new storefront launched Feb. 20.
-
It doesn't include Bath & Body Works' full line, but it does have popular products like candles, body wash, and hand soaps.
-
You'll find classic scents like Champagne Toast, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and more.
-
Bath & Body Works products will ship for free with Prime. That's an improvement over the $6.99 shipping fee Bath & Body Works tacks on.
-
Free shipping is where our excitement ends though.
Smart shoppers shouldn't pay Amazon's prices on Bath & Body Works products.
We've been watching the Amazon Bath & Body Works storefront since it launched and comparing it to prices offered on the Bath & Body Works site. And while the Amazon store has a few bundle deals, the per-item prices are higher than those we see during Bath & Body Works sales like Body Care Day, the Semi-Annual Sale, and Candle Day.

In fact, this storefront doesn't even seem to be matching the prices of Bath & Body Works' flash sales. For example, this past weekend, the Bath & Body Works website was running a few deals, including a mix-and-match discount on Wallflowers, $3.95 hand soaps, and 25% off any purchase. Plus, orders over $50 got free shipping. We scored eight soaps and six Wallflowers for $51. With hand soaps priced up to $8 on Amazon, that $51 would have gotten us just six soaps if we'd shopped there instead.
Yes, Amazon offers convenience. But hard-core Bath & Body Works shoppers know that saving at Bath & Body Works is not about buying single products whenever the mood strikes. It's about waiting for stock-up sales and events that can save you up to 75%, even if that means going into a store or opting for free store pickup to avoid paying for shipping.
Bath & Body Works on Amazon: Pros and Cons
So who benefits from the new Bath & Body Works storefront on Amazon? Shoppers looking for free shipping and convenience. But you're probably better off shopping from Bath & Body Works directly if saving money is your ultimate goal
Pros:
-
You get free shipping (many items have 2-day shipping with Prime), which is great for those who don't live near a store.
-
You can shop for Bath & Body Works items in the same cart as other necessities.
Cons:
-
The prices are higher.
-
Bath & Body Works flash sales, mix-and-match deals, and promo codes aren't available in the Amazon store (at least not yet).
-
You can't use offers like the $10 off $30 for new rewards members.
-
You won't earn Bath & Body Works rewards when you buy through Amazon. When you shop at Bath & Body Works directly (online or in stores) you earn 10 points per dollar. At 1,000 points, you get a freebie valued at up to $18.95.
We suspect that this new Amazon storefront was made to reach folks who aren't already seasoned Bath & Body Works shoppers and who might be happy with the convenience factor. But even if that's you, we can't just let you leave savings on the table. So promise us this: Before you put a Bath & Body Works item in your cart on Amazon, be sure to check the Bath & Body Works site and see what sales they're offering.
