1. Expect the Ikea Black Friday ad to drop on November 20.

In 2022, Ikea dropped their Black Friday ad online on Nov. 21, with exclusive offers for Ikea Family members. Some of Ikea’s Black Friday deals were available right away, while others started on Thanksgiving Day.
Is Ikea open on Thanksgiving?
No, Ikea stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day, but you can still shop for any available deals online. Just remember, if you’re not an Ikea Family member, Black Friday deals won’t drop until actual Black Friday.
What time does Ikea open for Black Friday?
Ikea stores opened at 10 a.m. local time and closed at 9 p.m. local time on Black Friday. Be sure to look up your local Ikea store online for the most accurate holiday hours.
2. Ikea Black Friday deals will last through Cyber Monday.

Ikea Black Friday deals started earlier in November and lasted all the way through Black Friday (Nov. 25) in 2022. Most deals ran until the end of Cyber Monday. Select offers will be available until Dec. 3, and others will last all the way through mid-January. The thing to know about Ikea’s Black Friday sale is that most offers are only available to Ikea Family members.
The Best Ikea 2022 Black Friday Deals
- Holiday Lighting: 20% off (Nov. 24 – Dec. 4)
- Hemmabak Baking Pans: 25% off (ended Nov. 28)
- Select Area Rugs: 20% off (ends Jan. 22, 2023)
- Select Fargklar Dinnerware: 25% off (ended Nov. 28)
- Select Appliances: 20% off (ended Nov. 28)
3. Most of Ikea’s in-store Black Friday deals are also available online.

Before 2020, all the best Ikea Black Friday deals were in stores, but that all changed when the pandemic hit and pushed more shoppers online. In 2022, the same Ikea Black Friday deals were also available online. If a deal isn’t available in both places, it’ll say “in-store only” or “online only” next to the offer.
4. Sign up for an Ikea Family membership to save the most money during Black Friday.

An Ikea Family membership is a MUST to get the most out of Ikea Black Friday deals. The first thing you need to know about Ikea Family is that it’s free to sign up. The second thing is that Ikea Family members now get 5% back on their Ikea purchases in-store (as of Sep. 2022), plus exclusive deals that start a whole two weeks before Black Friday!
Here are some of the exclusive Ikea Family offers from Nov. 2022:
- Färgklar 24-piece dinnerware set, $44.99 (reg. $59.99) — ended Nov. 28, 2022
- Vinterfint Advent calendar with 24 boxes, $15.99 (reg. $19.99) — ended Nov. 23, 2022
- Stoense Rug, $119.99 (reg. $149.99) — ends Jan. 22, 2023
- Dröna Storage Box, $5.59 (reg. $6.99) — ends Jan. 22, 2023
- Bygglek Lego Box with Lid, Set of 3, $11.99 (reg. $14.99) — ends Jan. 22, 2023
And that’s not all there is to love. If you’re an Ikea Family member, you can browse exclusive offers online, score member-only coupons, and enter to win a monthly $100 Ikea gift card just by swiping your card in-store. You’re also covered by a 90-day price protection policy. So if a product you bought with your card goes on sale within 90 days of your purchase, you can bring in your receipt, and Ikea will refund you the difference.
With all that said, Ikea Family is for sure the key to bigger Black Friday savings. It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up, so go, go, go!
5. Check the ‘As-Is’ section for big discounts — up to 50% off Ikea items.

You’ll find the As-Is section at Ikea tucked between the warehouse and the checkout area. This hidden gem is filled with slightly used or discontinued Ikea items with markdowns of up to 50% off. Taking a lap through the As-Is section is one of the best ways to save on Ikea products during Black Friday (and really any other time you shop). You won’t be able to return items from the As-Is section, but the discounts may be worth the risk.
You can also shop the As-Is section online. Just select your Ikea store from the drop-down menu to see available items at your location.
TIP: Visit your Ikea store on Monday morning for the best selection of As-Is items. Since most people return items on Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll have the first look at anything that landed in the As-Is section over the weekend. There’s also way less foot traffic at Ikea stores on Monday mornings from what I’ve seen.
6. Look for yellow tags at Ikea to save on ‘Last Chance’ items.

As you walk through Ikea, keep an eye out for yellow tags that say “Last Chance.” These are items you won’t be able to buy at Ikea for much longer, and some even have discounted prices. So if you see something you like with a yellow tag on it, snag it ASAP before it’s gone!
You can also shop the same selection of Ikea Last Chance items online. Filter your search to see items available at your Ikea store, and choose store pickup to skip the delivery charges.
7. Find great Ikea deals online in the ‘Our Lowest Prices’ section.

To save more on your purchase, check out what’s available in Ikea’s “Our Lowest Prices” section online. This is where you’ll find all-time low prices on Ikea furniture, decor, textiles, and more. Score shelf units for just $24.99, curtains for $9.99, and storage bins for just $1.79 each. If you don’t want to visit the store to pick up your order, make sure the “Buyable Online” filter is checked before you browse the discounts.
8. Does Ikea deliver or ship to your home? Yes — but it’ll cost you.

Ikea offers a few shipping options for online purchases, but unfortunately, none of them are free. Delivery costs for small orders start at $5.99, but the prices go up from there.
- Scheduled Deliveries: Prices start at $49 and vary based on your proximity to a local Ikea store.
- In-Home Deliveries: Prices start at $69 and vary based on your proximity to a local Ikea store.
We suggest avoiding those delivery costs altogether, especially if you live near an Ikea store location. You can see what’s available at your local Ikea online and then take a trip to the store, or shop online and choose store pickup at checkout.
9. Pick up your online Black Friday orders for free with Ikea’s ‘Click & Collect’ service.

The easiest way to skip those pesky shipping and delivery fees is to pick up your order in store. Ikea’s Click & Collect option lets you buy online and pick up your order at an Ikea store near you. Click & Collect is free at most Ikea stores, with the exception of six locations in New Jersey, New York, and Maryland.
When you check out online, be sure to select “Pick Up” when you’re asked how you’d like to receive your order. When you go to pick up at your local store, follow the signs to the Click & Collect Order pickup area. Park in one of the designated spots and check in through the Ikea app or through your order confirmation email. Then just wait a few minutes for an Ikea employee to bring your items out. Ikea will hold your Click & Collect order for 24 hours before it’s canceled.
10. Return new and unopened Ikea products within 365 days for a full refund.

No need to rush on those Ikea holiday returns. You have a full year to return unused Ikea items for a full refund. If you’ve already opened your purchase, you can return it within 180 days for a full refund. Just make sure you hold on to your receipts in both cases — you’ll need to provide proof of purchase to qualify for a full refund.
Keep in mind: Ikea doesn’t accept returns on plants, cut fabric, custom countertops, and items from the As-Is section. Our guide to Ikea’s return policy will tell you everything you need to know.
11. Get free daycare for your kiddos while you shop for Ikea Black Friday deals.

Want to focus on deal-hunting without distractions? No problem! Drop your kids off at Ikea daycare to give them something fun to do while you shop. Ikea calls their in-store daycare “Smaland,” and it’s typically located at the front of the store. You’ll get a free hour of daycare any time you shop. Ikea Family members get an extra 30 minutes of free daycare, which is just another reason to join the club.
Smaland is temporarily closed at certain Ikea locations, so check online to make sure it’s open before you head to your local store.
